D-U-M-B post, this is squads mode.u have 1 million soldiers so u just push and die, if u want to play something more “realistic” play lone fighters or other game. Most of the “good KDA” players on scoreboard are literally afk sniping without moving the ass for the whole match while others are winning the game pushing and capping objetives. Like this is basically how the gameplay of this game is, u pick a soldier and push, when die go to next soldier. You are basically saying that the core concept of the game should change, which could be fine but its not possible having such terrible AI. Its never gona be a “realistic game” when the bots are even dumber than this post
What you mentioned about map design is a perfect example for content in the game not working with the given mechanics. You have an AI, which has to react a) fast enough and b) in an accurate way. In CQC you have to choices for that: either you implement a more useless AI (like now), or you implement an instant 180°-turning oneshotting AI (like we HAD in the past). On bigger maps offering at least the average 100m engagement range of WW2 and a bigger variation towards terrain, AI would have enough time to react and wouldnt be useless if a player rushes around the area.
Adressing tanks & MGs more specifically: tanks are quite effective i owe you that, sadly i cant edit my previous post. MGs on the other side dont fit into the given meta. Everybody is rushing in and the fact that you can easily flank MGs by running another 7 seconds while it takes ages to properly set up the MG / recoil prevents you from defending yourself. Adding the fact that sitting back is not working out in the current run and gun meta MGs are not very useful at all, or why havent i seen any MG in months? Oh wait i did, ive been the only one using it …
Adressing realism: im talking about adding structure into the game, so its not just senseless run and gun without any purpose. Right now, the game is NOTHING but rinse and repeat. The matches are ALWAYS the same. You go to the same positions, you fight for the same positions and you face the same problems quite much every game. Over and over again. Nothing changes. Maybe one day you will get to know what im talking about. The moment you dont need to grind for anything. The moment you realise how much depth this game is missing.
But after recapturing previous posts i get the fact, that people dont really understand what “structure” in terms of gameplay means? Especially the post talking about people not pushing in because people get more points by staying back. The fact that slowly pushing in, holding vital key-positions ==> map control is not understood tells me enough. If you play in a coordinated way, the guy pushing in gets the same rewards as the guy covering his back, it just makes it a LOT easier to push in, since you can focus on one specific direction (just to explain it a bit).
Its about efficiency and effectivity. Its about actual skill, since you have to do much more than just rushing in and die, which is the current meta. Its delivering gameplay quality, immersion, intense firefights and so on. Much more than just running-pewpew-running-pewpew-die rinse and repeat; thats just causing heart-attacks and you would understand what im saying if you check your blood pressure while playing games like this. Thats why those games are more popular: you get excited (could go even further), more or less in both ways (after watching friends of mine and myself id rather say: in a negative way)
Current LMG’s works like assault-rifles, especiatly for germans. So yeah everyone who has unlocked them does use them. Unless they are mentally challenged.
Adding “realism” just makes the game slow. Just like HLL which is after 1 game extremely boring.
If theres no coordination now, there wont be anymore of it in future. The entire game that works around bots doesnt exactly intrest people that are looking for teamplay&coordination. So no, “slowpaced” realism wont do anything except dumb the game down even more.
I understand that you like the no skill, just running around shooting with 0 brain usage , that probably fit your personality better,
I prefer bit more strategy , usage of terrain, tactics, no just lemmings suiciding without order. but you can play any modern COD , I think with your “vision” you would enjoy them very much.
I understand that your reaction time is measured in hours unlike normal persons who have it in milliseconds. So you need more time to be “tactical”
You can be tactical in fast pace games too, making game slower due to realism is just poor excuse for bad players.
