You guys think that is bad? how about IS-2 vs Tiger B? where is the balance in that?
If anything a regular Tiger or a panther should face IS-2’s, it would be impossible to add a Tiger B into the game without either breaking the balance OR breaking historical accuracy by making the IS 2 more powerful than it was.
IS-2 1944 is hella good tank, same as Tiger II, those 2 tanks are pretty equal. I don’t know if u meant Tiger I or Tiger II tho.
how on earth was the Tiger II equal to the IS-2? What are you smoking? did I miss something?
IS-2 1944 version with better slopped armor can beat Tiger II ass very easy. Both tanks have similiar weakspots. IS-2 have better shells, also is maybe little bit faster than Tiger II.
they are just as blind as the is-2 and likely will be piloted by players that can’t think and breath at the same time
The IS-2 was designed to counter Tiger I tanks and so it did, it was superior to the Tiger tank and even capable to face panther tanks at lager combat ranges, however the Tiger B would light up IS-2 Tanks with a single hit up to 1000m distance. The only chance for a IS-2 tank to destroy a Tiger B was hitting its side OR bombarding it with HE shells, cuz that had a good chance to break the poorly constructed mess without a penetration.
The Tiger II had a lot of technical problems, while the IS-2 was considered very reliable … however if we compare tanks purely by looking at their armor and firepower, the IS-2 was much more comparable to the panther tanks.
The IS-2 is going to be dogshit tbh
Even if it gets a god tier HE round
›27 second reload
›Slow turret traverse
›Low maneuverability and hull traverse
It’s gonna have a good reverse gear though
Well maybe not dogshit, but I’d say the KT P is going to be far superior all around
yea, thats why I say its “comparable” to the panther, both can penetrate each other, while the IS-2 being a bit more powerful with a much worse reload speed tho.
I was just throwing it out there.
Not directed at any statement in particular, sorry
Tbh Pz4H would have made more sense in terms of power level.
HA, yeah the panther being an equivalent… no.
Go try test it out yourself in practice once you get it. Its a joke. I got the panther and no matter if I am a Kilometer away and angled I still get one shot by the T34-85 while my shots either disappear into the void or get bounced.
As I said elsewhere in my personal observations of berlin thread; (My observation of the Berlin CBT - Balance concerns and improvement suggestions) it’s definitely not a balanced matchup. On the low end of power, the Panzer IVH makes more sense, and at the high end, a Panther D or Tiger 1 would be far closer to being an equivalent of the T-34-85 D-5T.
Alternatively, you could replace the T-34-85 D-5T with a T-34-57 and you’d have a more reasonable matchup for the Panzer IVJ.
There is no balance in war and espcially in ww2 !!.. you have what you have and deal with it the best way you can … using all the advantage and covering your disadvantage !..
For all the people crying about balance devs would need to make literally all weapons the same !!! INDENTICAL but it wont happen , maybe some other company will make you a game with all the same weapons so you can have your perfect balance !!!
I prefer historical accuracy over balance !!!
Also many historians would compare panzer IV as a more than decent medium tank, comparable to T-34 -76 , late models maybe even T34-85 !
IS was not intended as Tiger to be Anti Tank , but anti fortifications, bunkers etc. had 28 shells .out of wich 20 wore HE !.. also they noticed verry soon that shell that blasts bunkers also blasts tanks pretty well !
Oh I know all that
That’s why I’m looking forward to the KT P more
Fanservice
We’re getting the P, not the H italibro
I thinked the p is a missclick sorry
I’m not asking for all weapons to be the same. What I am asking, is where it makes sense, to try to improve balance while sticking to the weapons available to the faction in question.
Weapons in many, many cases in game do not act like their real-life counterparts, (for example, the soviet SMGs having less recoil per shot than the German SMGs, when it is very much the other way around IRL) and there are options while keeping to historical accuracy to improve balance through the selection of different equipment for different factions.
The J varient of the Panzer IV was a downgrade over the Panzer IVH, made to simplify production, however both were present in 1945 and there were H variants recorded as operating in Berlin at war’s end. So too were there Tiger 1’s, though obviously not many. Either would be a closer match that what we see for beginners in Berlin right now- still worse but an upgrade over the J in the case of the Panzer IVH, or slightly better but not by the same degree the T-34-85 D-5T in the case of the Tiger 1, when compared to the T-34-85 D-5T.
The M3A1, M2, Chaffee, Jumbo, Panzer IIIB and the BA make the “historical” point redundant to a point where it only matters when it was built and by who.
Same goes for weapon stats which are nothing but pure madness.
