Punish Quitters with serious punishment

Nah even real teammates will sometimes not use your rally and instead choose to spawn 100 miles away from objective. Of course some people build shit rallies, and I would much rather spawn 100 miles away from cap than spawn inside an attic or heaven fucking forbid on top of a SILO (This has actually happened to me, Normandy farm map)

I love when a rally point is built in a certain spot and the bots are stuck there

Absolutely, nothing says “This is really going to help us cap the point!” like putting a rally in a place where you have to individually move every single AI down a ladder one by one.

Bots don’t spawn planes and tanks neither have certain equipments or squads, contrary to you, I know what I am talking about.

Also, bots don’t come on the forums defend their shitty way of playing.

i have no problem with people quitting, this is a game after all and if you quit its either your not going to have fun, your not having fun, tired or other IRL issues

the mere fact that people demand that people play games that they really dont want to play, and want to enforce punishments on them, is very toxic

I never quit except for a real reason, like irl

if you want to quit because you aren’t having fun, that’s fine, we could allow one quit a day for that reason

or you could just finish the match, which is what I normally do, if I am not in the mood and had enough, I don’t just abandon the team at an important time, I finish the match, win or lose, and then close the game. It’s not that big of a deal.

If people don’t want to play a game that they may lose, then they are playing the wrong game, one team always has to lose. And if one team immediately quits when things get tough, that just makes the game worse for everyone else in the match. That is far more toxic, and pretending to be too good to fight a tough battle and take a loss. That is actually bad sportsmanship and sore losers and weak and cowardly.

A system to reward players for their devotion and punish those that are cowards is essential to preserve the good sportsmanship spirit of the game, which is totally non existent in the current culture as players behave like spoiled children that abandon the field of battle like cowards regularly with no repercussions.

My suggestion would punish the regular offenders, so they either stop being regular offenders, or they can go play a different game where their cowardly behavior is welcomed. It should not be welcomed here if we value the integrity of the game and adhere to strong sportsmanship ethics

Quitters are lower than a Lizard sleeping on a rock

Heard of yellow belly snakes?

Played one game with just three players left. We lost but it was very close in the end.

I say, extra rewards to team players and stayers for the game’s sake, otherwise we’ll all go and play HLL :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

But what if I encounter a mode I don’t like to play?

We all play the game in those modes

I don’t like some modes as much either

But I wouldn’t be constantly abandoning my team just because of that. I play them anyway because I’m no coward and don’t want to abandon my mates.

That is a different issue, you have to weigh up if you are prepared to continue playing the game with this random mode design

Ideally we would all choose our favourite maps and add them to the allowed list and only queue for those, but that is a different issue. Maybe make that a suggestion topic?

I am working with the current issue of too many players abandoning the matches and it hurting the matches and overall quality of the game

Abbanding a battle wo is clearly lost already from the first minute or is a bad map/mode, is not cowardy, is my fun first!, wy i have ruin my time to play an “arcade” f2p game for some sort of unrewarded sportmanship, for thr morale superiority? I can live withaut here

You might not see it as cowardly from your point of view, however you are branded as one by the players who remain, regardless of your reasons for doing it. It’s just how it is.

You are ruining others fun by doing what you are doing.

So somewhere along that chain, someones fun has to take precedence.

Either those that remain to fight or the quitters

I will always side with those that remain to fight, regardless of your reasons and excuses.

So any suggestion to help reduce this issue will always get my full support, as those quitters are doing more harm to the game. And the game integrity is more important overall than this small culture of quitters that are ruining the game.

If everyone took your approach, then the only games left available would be one team full of people like you, and the other team full of bots, because all the other people like you ran away

that is what your fun is bringing to the game

Whereas my fun would actually help balance things and keep people in matches more often, or get rid of these horrible players for good, either way, winning situation as there would be less quitters in matches

Yeah, I have lost several battles and stayed to the end, even battles that I knew from the beginning that I would lose, but because I had a team that was playing it right and those were great matches.

But even a match that I am winning but my team just spawn and look for the most distant bush or window they can use to snipe makes me want to quit very quickly. And man I have been losing matches because while I could get to the objective every time I spawned I was overwhelmed because no one pushed alongside me.

As I said, I will lose a match together with my team if they are playing right, I have lost several, but a dumb team will make me quit even if we are winning (more like, I am carrying).

When OP stop being one of those dumbasses that camp for 20min and get 30 kills max he may see that players will stay on his team for longer.

This game can’t force players to play the mode they don’t like, because playing the mode they don’t like is a waste of time, and this game doesn’t give players any choice.

So let the game manager first let players ban the rights of the modes they don’t like, and then punish deserters

That moral superiority OP tries to preach isn’t going to work on a game that has game mechanics that actively promotes selfish behavior such as some battle pass tasks and even event tasks themselves. The grind is already steep enough even with premium so some would just be greedy and ruin someone else’s fun by stomping the entire enemy team with high level weapons, grayzone tanks and other tactics to win the match while getting as many kills as possible.

I already suggested an alternative instead of punishing deserters where there should be a checkbox like “play any team” to queue for an ongoing match to replace deserters with actual players with a boost and some safeguards to prevent people from joining too late. Reinforcing teams with actual players replacing those who left

The matchmaking is already shitty that an entire team can have all players being marshals while the other have no officer ranks at all or one team have high level weapons while the other have starter ones so that adds the reason why punishing players who desert is not a good idea.

Ok here’s my suggestion everyone could get behind.

If you don’t quit the game within the first minute your winrate WILL be effected by that match. So if you quit and your team loses you get one lose on your record, same for if they win.

This way if people quit for not having fun it shouldn’t bother them, but if someone quit for winrate they will suffer.

agreed.

not that i care about winrate at all i would leave same batles as i do. most will do at 1st min or if notice team is still trying to understand W is used to move foward. shit aint fun, not for me. next.

No,

When I quit games, I do so for several reasons:

a.) An emergency IRL
b.) Game is dragging on too long (+40-45 minutes)
c.) I’m the only one building RPs on team (80% of games if I’m the only person with an RP up in the first 5 minutes that’s gonna be a lost game)

I especially despise the last and feel no qualms about leaving then. I play to both enjoy but also to win; building RPs takes less than 20 seconds of work with a single engineer in a squad. If a team is that lazy (like the last round I was playing) then I don’t intend to pull them to victory by myself.

Don’t let this guy near a judicial system if he thinks the most severe penalties foster the best behavior lol.
