Pre-order: "Thunder in the Sky" tanker squads

In this game, it’s literally impossible to destroy tanks with the MK 108. I even managed to knock out an IS-2 in the past using the 30mm on the FW 190 D-12, but according to the stats, that round has less than 5mm of penetration. This is clearly a bug related to armor modeling.

Someone claimed the 30mm autocannon is extremely powerful with 108mm penetration. He tested it by firing from above at the engine compartment of a tank in the test range, managing to penetrate and ignite the engine for a full detonation. Still, I doubt this can be pulled off consistently in real combat, so we can rule out such scenarios.

This 30mm gun isn’t even that effective against BR3 tanks. If it were truly overpowered, the Bf 110 G-2 would rely on its autocannons to wipe out infantry on the ground instead of resorting to rockets.

The MK 108 on the BF 110 only fires high-explosive shells at a slow 500 m/s, so of course it shouldn’t do any damage to tanks. But the MK 103 is a totally different story.

A lot of that comes down to the fact that the Ta-Se is T1 and most drivers are novices. It’s EXTREMELY rare to find them pointing skywards which is a pity because they do have the potential to swat aircraft quite easily. But yes, easy sniping might be an issue.

I have no idea what the devs were thinking when they put these vehicles at BR 3. Even if you only use them purely in their intended anti-air role, they’re easily BR 5 level equipment.

Up until now, BR 5 jets like the Meteor and F80 were so fast that they were hard to hit, and even when you did land hits, you needed a lot of them to actually take them down. That’s why large-caliber or multi-barrel AA guns were necessary at BR5. But at BR 3, that kind of firepower was never needed.
BR 3 fighters and attackers come in at slow dive speeds of around 300–400 km/h, making them easy targets for 20mm AA. A couple of solid hits was usually enough to knock them out of the fight.
But if these vehicles are added at BR 3 as they are now, they won’t just dominate existing BR 3 propeller planes — they’ll completely deny any approach to even slower BR 2 aircraft like the Dauntless, IL-2, and Ju 87. That’s a critical balance issue.
Low speed transport planes carrying paratroopers will get shredded in mid-air by MK 103 HE shells before they can even drop their troops. Six guys getting wiped out instantly will just become a normal everyday occurrence, regardless of BR.
And on top of that, they have high-penetration rounds too, which makes it a total nightmare for BR 2 players. These things are built on the Sherman and Panzer IV chassis — which already have great mobility and protection — while packing insane anti-infantry firepower. They can easily destroy lower-tier tanks and completely shut down the sky for any aircraft. It’s extremely unfair for BR2 players. If they end up being sold for real money, it becomes even more ridiculous.
Therefore, it seems correct to adjust it to BR4 or 5.

As Pilot main… I h8 this p2w Squads
Best thing they can bring now is to remove Battlerating complete and bring back campaign system

In my opinion, this vehicle stands almost no chance of penetrating angled Shermans and KVs. It’s even more hopeless at BR 4. Since it’s classified as a tank, it should at least be able to fight light armored targets, instead of being reduced to a mere mobile anti-aircraft platform. How can it possibly sell well like this?

because they are, technically speaking, tanks that are unable to fight other tanks at their BR at all. This game makes no distinction between SPAA or tanks, so these are just tanks with “low caliber” main cannons

True, the Ta-Se players mostly rush the objectives and instantly get blown up. If I remember correctly it is the first tank in the tech tree so it is usually played by new players.

Idk if this BR sorting has any meaning anymore, couple of days ago i had 3 games in a row with my BR3 loadout and we got BR5 Germans against us with MKBs… wasnt fun at all, though must be happening rarely but still very sad

same thing happened to me just two days ago and3 times in a row, had BR3 loadout, against BR5 guys, but god forbid i would have even a single BR4 guns with me lol

So br+/-2 is still a thing? I thought it now permanent br+/-1.

Unless the br+/-2 happen when there arent enough br5 player?

It is BR+/- 1 . Based simply on the Mkb it could be the Mkb42(M) or even Stg45(M) both of which are at BRIV, also could be the Mkb 42 (H) 15 at BRIII or Mkb 35/III at BRII. If there’s not enough players it gets filled with bots, not players that can’t face that BR.

Of course!
And you know why! The Skink is not an axis vehicle.

… as dumb a reason as this.

Yeah, with some experience you can make them suffer and you can destroy tanks with almost everything, but infantry is hard in BR4-5, this happen to me even with Japan but the Type99 with grenade launcher is very good to stop annoying infantry

The concept/expectatives of a “tank” sometimes is a bit too high for some people XD,

Well, tbf they already nerfed 12.7mm to the ground with the M13 (remember back then where it shredded an entire Japan team in ten seconds?)
20mm also isnt that impressive, at least on ground vehicles.

I remember what was nerfed isn’t the strength of the guns per say…

But houses now made from stalinium wood. (Or Yamatowood?)
So that rounds can’t go through anymore, (or barely) which was the real issue…

A skilful m13 driver can still block enemy infantry easily, as long as they are in the open.

I’m not afraid of the new axis AA vehicle. Because it won’t be more lethal than a repeated 75HE shell barrage from a br2 pz4…

I think they also nerfed overheating so it constantly overheated to make sure it also doesnt work as AA anymlre.

Oh yeah… that too…

It’s an annoying nerf, on pretty much everything, especially tank lmgs…
