M2 carbine:

  • is basicaly an SMG
  • wasn’t nerfed like a rifle / carbine. Nor were SMGs.
  • has ammo count like SMG

Devs: Let’s give M2 carbine to every trooper because it’s a rifle

I haven’t used it but I have used the M2A1 gold order, and the full auto recoil on it is so horrendous that it’s only good for hipfiring up close, anywhere beyond a few meters and I switch to semi. Granted, semi on it is like a pre nerf M1 Carbine with more ammo, but the M2A1 has more damage than the base M2 so that’s already just a pre nerf M1 Carbine with 2x mag capacity, and imo worse iron sights. It’s not a fair comparison to the STG, but it’s still pretty powerful now due to the semi nerf, giving you the equivalent of a 9 man assaulter squad, although at that point the thompson is probably better due to having less recoil.
