Players with premium squads

I could do that but currently I wonder if I won’t dump all campaigns and focus all effort on tunesia as I have a lot of fun there. Untill I finally decide on my future campaign, thinking about buying slots is a waste of time.

most of them yes, and they are quite the same as their counterparts i must say, except for the tanks with apcr/heat rounds, but infantry pretty much the same

since normandy is my fav campaign i try to collect every vehicle/squad in game but have some for berlin and just got one for moscow aswell.

adding soldiers to most (even if not the premium weps) but for example the normandy falschrimjagers engineers are cool but a 4 men team is almost useless especially with FGs on the other engs, but on berlin the 4 men assault squad is in my opinion the best inf squad you can buy (soviets)

for vehicles i have no complaints apart from the disgusting camo on firefly and the lame factory yellow on the stug.

thats a 17th SS stug IV, at least give it a 3-tone camo

yes some more then others, in my opinion the firefly is a must have for US line up in normandy

not all, but most time i’d pick a premium over a standard one

i think they are on the level of end game and in the hands of someone competent they can be dangerous, but i see most used recklessly and destroyed within seconds (especially allied tanks Normandy)

i think they are a bit overpriced, but i like the game so i’m willing to invest

  • wink wink devs camo for my stug <3 *

i would’t mind at all aslong as they make the soldiers/vehicles look a little more unique (for example standard normal and premium having more decals and foliage)

Good topic. I don’t own any premium squads, so I’ll just answer the relevant section(s).

Right now, for what you get, the price is too high.
The reason the price is too high, and I don’t consider them worth the purchase, is because currently it’s only extra bodies and maybe some semi-unique guns. Even the perks are not rare or exclusive, they’re just pre-selected.

I’ll give an example. None of this is too outlandish, in my opinion, and it lines up with the direction the game seems to be heading in. Here’s what it would take for me to consider a premium ($45-$60 USD) squad purchase:

Blue Division - a group of “volunteers” that Francoist Spain sent to the Eastern Front as reciprocity for the Germans’ assistance in the Spanish Civil War. Specifically, this would be for the Moscow Campaign (I know that’s not how it went down historically, but, again, this is an example).

6 total troops. 1 engineer, 1 machine gunner, 4 riflemen. I’m not really familiar with the TO&E that the Spanish units used, although I assume it would at least have some similarities to the Wehrmacht TO&E.

The troops would have their voice lines in Spanish (and that includes “Long live death!”).

This package would also include a Profile Portrait as well as a custom Wallpaper (poster) that can be placed in game. Both the Portrait and the Wallpaper should be related to the Blue Division, obviously.

I would also make these troops rank five BUT WITHOUT any experience (or perks). As people play them, they can decide what perks to add. I would also, just to ease the pain, provide each soldier with 3 retraining points to accommodate bad rolls or unlucky perk selections as they level up.

I have an alternate idea to deal with the issue of leveling and perks, but I’ll leave that out for brevity.

I think a similar example could be done for vehicle squads, airplane squads and so forth. The main thing I’m trying to illustrate is I would like to see more than just “warm bodies with interesting guns/tanks/planes” available. It would also be good to allow people a level of freedom to choose the development of the premium squad, within reason.

The biggest thing keeping me from spending money past the battle pass and the premium account is that I’m patient. I don’t mind trading my time for advancement, and I’m not usually worried about missing out on whatever the new “hotness” is.

Having said that, I like to support good games. But there was a game I bought into back in 2017, developed by a group in St. Petersburg, that is STILL in Beta and has a development path that makes about as much sense to me as watching a pug on cocaine chasing a squirrel.

That experience left a bad impression on me about supporting games that aren’t clearly communicating what they’re trying to accomplish, so I need to feel like I understand what the final vision is going to be before I get too invested.

But I’m here, I’m participating, and I really enjoy the game. So, here’s your answers.

God bless, for your answer and time.

Have you bought extra slots on your campaigns?
if yes, Would you support an option for a free 2 play player to own them too?

if not, why not? (if you allow me to ask)

Make this masterpiece into a post so they see it

She already did in the past, and had alot of support from the community.

you can check it here/give your support there if she still considers that topic relevant to todays game:

the fight for better premium squads its as old as CBT start. (1 year of asking)

I use them mainly to help me grind faster so personally they are ok for me. The PPD in Berlin and the 2 BAR squads in Normandy are still ok for me (finished those campaigns apart from allies Normandy). The M3 SMG one in Normandy is really bad imo. No reason to have in comparison to techtree squads.

I have the 2 BAR and the m3 SMG squads in Normandy and the PPD one in Berlin

Not 100% but at least they should have 1 engineer with normal engineer gun

Various premium tanks are borderline OP since they are either slightly or a lot better than the techtree ones. Same goes for the new LMG squads in Moscow. For the rest in depends. For example as i said above, the M3 SMG in Normandy is crap. The 2 BAR squads or ok. The PPD in Berlin is fine and very good until you get the Ppsh-41 in the techtree. Then it becomes obsolete.

Yes, only when i want to grind a new level in the techtree fast

Some tanks and the new LMGs in Moscow are P2W. Others like the M3 SMG in Normandy are underpowered.

Even if i have a few i think in general they are way too expansive. With 50% off on sales their price is ok, but full price no.

I think this would make buying them more popular since they could be as good as normal squads but with a nice XP bonus. Personally i may buy a few of them in this case, not sure

No, it is 490… which means you are going to pay 600 gold for one slot at minimum.
Good deals huh. Double paywalls are scummy no matter how you put it.

still a good deal nontheless imo (regarding the outcome - extra slot):stuck_out_tongue:

i m not defending them . ofc i would like to have what i own for half, 1/3d of the price… thats more than understandable. isnt a nice way to sell a product…

It might be, however, as I have already said above… you can hardly name a thing you can´t buy in Enlisted.
Trying to force people to buy MORE in order to be able to BUY MORE is just an unnecessary bullying at that point.

My point is not that I would love to have stuff at low price or free even… my point is, that there is a line drawn between bussiness and daylight robbery… which is pretty much double paywalling.

I’m happy to help, I’m just choosy about when and where. A lot of you are trying your hardest to sincerely help carry this thing to the finish line, and as an American I’m culturally wired to support the underdog. :grinning:

I have not (yet) bought extra slots on any of my campaigns.

I haven’t bought extra squad slots because I just finished both the Moscow and Berlin campaigns (I do side-by-side progression…I never let Axis or Allies get more than half a level ahead of the other). I’m currently level 20 on Normandy and 23 on Tunisia…so the end of the road is in sight on both those campaigns (I may leave Normandy for last, I was burnt out on that theater before I even heard of Enlisted).

But a NEW campaign might be worth extra squad slots…so right now I’m still of a wait-and-see approach. I’ve also worked out that after about 4 battle passes, I have enough EXTRA gold where it makes sense to purchase an extra squad slot (and that’s a beautiful thing!).

I think free to play (F2P) needs a lot more love than they currently get. So yes, I absolutely would support giving them an extra squad slot.

I was saving this for suggestions, but I’ll pop it here. I would add a Coupon or a Token or something in the Battle Pass, available for F2P players, and put it around level 40 or 45…wherever a F2P player might reasonably progress to. This Coupon/Token, once you acquired it, could be redeemed for something substantial, like an extra squad slot, but only during the subsequent/following Battle Pass.

It’s a crude idea, but I think it’s something that needs to be in there to reward people for grinding through. Other ideas for the Coupon/Token might be: skins on weapons, customized or plated weapons (like the twitch pistol drops), maybe interesting melee weapons (like the sabers) and so forth.

I think more things need to start showing up to support repeat players, free or otherwise. Good on you for keeping the torch lit in that regard.

take the following not as “greed” but as actuall fact over the issue.
please dont forget pay users as myself that own the max slots ingame already on that suggestion.

either make it as only f2p players get them, or pay users too but will get a extra slot over the maximal 10?

the “more slots for free users” was suggested countless times and i support it, fully, but what a pay user that already have 10 slots will get?

examples of my campaigns:

Summary

what a user like me (that already have the maximal slots bought) would get? if you gonna suggest that, and i support you do so , please consider this on the equation. isnt greed, i would understand it perfecly, but, others may disagree why X can get somethign i had to pay yesterday for free.

this is for the longterm of the game. there is a group of players mainly from alpha like me or Closed beta players that played this daily or almost daily that support the game and are active enough on the community and see the game grow/change and still come for more, and yet, we “all” share the same concern regarding premium squads.

we do all (at certain degree) own them, and keep supporting the game for a fella that cant or choose not to , to be able to play it for free. we just want our toys to be more inline with what the game can offer for free.

i did tho, enjoyed your answers, both of them. i hope i read more of you in the community.

and please, if you find the time and you are willing to put effort into it, suggest a way for f2p players to have more. hopefully will be well writen that devs may give it a shot into consideration,

theres a need for a suggestion regarding that ,with the community support , for them to let players buy one, without the need of the other.

feel free to suggest that. i belive you will have full atention of the community over that issue.

sadly i cant, since i have hundreds of days of premium ticking and 10slots on all campaigns, cant do prints to structure a topic around it.

Not even first time.

This is as pointless as suggesting the option to grind some slots out or stop releasing distorted and more P2W version of desired premium squad composition.

I honestly feel a bit tired about it at this point
However, best that can be done is to keep talking about it, and people stop relativizing it.

nothing is pointless.

the only pointless thing here is the lack of a response from CM’s or Devs or who ever read the topics.

but that is also understandable. at some degree…

i would still suggest , to keep pushing the issue to be resolved.

i m doing a monthly premium thread/state it everywhere i can, and i will only stop when i find them balanced comparing to normal squads.

Well, I´m not going to try to discourage you, but don´t expect much attention. Also next time you make such a suggestion and achieve some sort of big discussion without trollfishes etc. derailing it, it might be worth tagging Grosse Kaiser to it, because there is higher chance for any response after a while.

That’s a fair point. Again, it’s an idea that I’m still working through and that’s why I haven’t yet posted it in suggestions.

I think I understand what you’re saying here. You said the “longterm of the game,” and that is the VERY question that needs to be considered. What does the longterm look like? What is the expected rate of new campaigns per year? What is the IDEAL campaign that development could hold up and say “This. This is our (Darkflow’s) vision of what a campaign in Enlisted should be.”

There are 4 distinct campaigns available now with a good representation of weapons, units and map designs, but they each seem to suffer from their own balance/design issues. Looking at it from the outside that seems like a problem to me. Is there a roadmap for this game? Is there a “release” schedule for features or even a list of features to look forward to as it develops?

These aren’t issues that you are responsible for solving (I mean, unless you work for Darkflow), so please don’t take it that way!

I don’t benefit directly from you supporting Enlisted, but it’s to your (and others) credit that you do support them. You’ve (the alpha and beta testers) helped keep their business model intact beyond what many (including myself) have contributed. Speaking personally, I think we (and especially those like yourself) deserve to at least see something indicating what’s planned over the next year or two.

I’ve avoided MMOs for the most part because the model has resembled more and more that of a gambling nature to me. My game of choice, and this was true before the insane amount of math I needed to get my engineering degree, is Blackjack. Blackjack has the most even numerical odds for winning (about 49.6% to the player, 50.4% to the house). MMOs are not really set up to win, but much like gambling, you should enjoy spending your money (value for time).

Enlisted checks those boxes, for now. The money for premium and my initial investment for the battle pass I do not regret. (The money I spent on War Thunder, by contrast, was not a good investment).

If it continues the way it is now, with minimal communication about the future of the game and no roadmap for content, I’ll probably continue to trickle a minimum of money into it.

I’ve already been bitten by previous games and right now I’m in the twice shy phase about where my money goes. It’s not personal, it’s not that I don’t believe in the game, it’s nothing other than my personality (engineer) and my experience with other games. I’m too old to be an idealist, but still young enough to enjoy good games.

Everything is pointless till we actually create a shitstorm for something and are forced to address it and respond, Do you know how many shotgun threads i alone made? Let alone the rest of the forum and that was for such a small thing, which never the less was important since they made an entire class of weapons unusable and forgot about it cause they really didn’t care.

  1. Not happy, except recent LMG and 9 man riflemen. Nerf of CBT squads was quite close to deception. Other 4 men squads are not worth buying except for early access.
  2. All early access, 9 men Berlin and Tunisia, LMG in Moscow, some discounted vehicles.
  3. Allow addition of some F2P specialists. An engineer at very least.
  4. They are useful until level 10 more or less. After that their usage is bad for victory comparing to f2p. 9 men rifles are useful even in late campaign but overall are worse than maxed out F2P. 5 LMG squads are as good as F2P, better if upgraded.
  5. No, except LMG and depending on BP missions 9 rifles.
  6. The only squad not clearly inferior to maxed out F2P is new LMG squad.

1 question thou what do you do with all the people who bought the mg13/Lewis premium squads do we get to keep them as they are now. if you do decide to remove them or change them. the extra engineer and 2 extra mgs are what i paid for removing/changing them would be like bait and switch
