By the time I took my first steps inside the 5th objective (about 30 seconds after the allies captured the 4th), I got shot in the head by one of the paratroopers on the roof.
I only had a couple guys in my squad, and by the time I aimed up and saw one of their heads poking through the window… I got killed.
By the time I respawned and got halfway to the objective, we lost the match.
With all due respect and seriousness - are we really now going to start debating that Paras is some kind of game-breaking element? Are we really that low on your own abilities? Exploit? I don’t know, in the last battles I played in Normandy, I was practically the only one who had this squad. On the Allied side, I rarely see them at all now.
It’s just a simple squad that lands on the roof - so what? Throw a couple of nades in there, and watch your opponent will have to wait all that time until they can jump out of the plane again. Aren’t there bigger problems in the game right now than Paras? (which are very fun at the moment, I come back to play Enlisted just for Paras update to be honest).
Nor should we be doing special operations, with precise paratrooper drops (with supplies), onto the rooftops of buildings. Especially in the middle of a raging battlefield (during the WW2 ERA).
When the paratroopers were deployed, they were dropped over open terrain. Due to risk of injury and getting their parachutes hung up in trees or other dangerous places that would result in a serious injury (if the trooper cut himself free).
But hey man, like I said…
Since the game is no longer focused on historical accuracy, I asked if we could get blackhawk helicopters and Little Birds with Gats, as an upcoming addition to the game?
I’m a really good helicopter pilot, and it would be super fun. Hell, I’d probably even give them the $60 that they charge for premium units. At the moment, I’ve clocked over 3,000 matches and have not purchased a single premium unit. All the money that I’ve spent, has gone towards squad slots, premium xp, and the battle pass. That’s it.
But if they add some helicopters with hellfire missiles, I’ll pitch in $60 for the privilege. Which is the entire point of the game’s existence, am I right? The Money
Fun, and Historical accuracy, are both lower on the list of priorities.
That’s the problem with the community, you all bitch and whine for a specific thing for months or years and then when it’s finally added you bitch and whine about it more, I’ve had successful drops on objectives and I’ve been dead 0.2 seconds after touching the ground, pick an opinion and stay with it.
You guys do really that when paras drop ITS REALLY FRIGGING OBVIOUS. It’s not hard to shoot them outta the air and their really vulnerable after just dropping
I’m quite confused here. Paratroopers are surprisingly well balanced considering other mechanics that have been implemented with disappointing results. They give attacking teams more options and a better chance of winning which they desperately needed, especially on maps like D-Day. They are far from useless for defenders too.
I understand the way they have been implemented is not realistic, but neither is running around with 9-man FG42 squads with grenade pouches and WP. Enlisted is not a military simulator and never will be. HLL has cornered that market.
Being exclusively a premium bundle at launch was kinda dumb, but nowhere near pay to win, because they will be available for F2P players and from the current event and from progression later on. The Thompson 100 is excellent, but has significant drawbacks and can still can be countered by German assault rifles.
I think this is just a repeat of the AS-44 debate. The paratrooper squad is undercutting experienced players’ ability to stomp on new players.
First of all, I never asked for paratroopers. I’ve been asking for lobbies in matchmaking, to remain open and continuous at all times, rather than booting players back to the homescreen. Which would eliminate the problem with matches that are only 30-70% human players, and the remainder are A.I. squads.
I asked for map voting during intermission, which would eliminate a large percentage of quitters.
I’ve been asking for balancing within matchmaking, to get fixed. (High skilled teams should NOT be playing against teams full of new players)
And for bi-pods and weapon mounting to get fixed.
And for fire and phosphorus to get fixed (because it travels through walls).
These are the types of things, that I’ve asked for.
Oh, and for soldier customization to get fixed.
And for the Fw-190 to get fixed (because it constantly pitches to the left).
I’ll tell you one thing… Anybody that spends $60 will NOT want this squad to be NERFED. Because it obviously gives the player a competitive advantage, over those who do not have the squad.
So, I imagine a lot of people are going to protest my complaint. No surprise there.
I mean why not? I’m sure the 100 round Thompson and Axis equivelant are a lot of fun to play with…
This is incorrect, because the match that I created this post about, literally demonstrates that a premium unit was used to exploit the game. They deployed onto the roof of the objective (while being able to safely capture without anybody knowing where they were. Until the player started ducking-and-shooting the soldiers below, through the windows.)
Before the defense had any time to re-group and prepare for the attackers as they began pushing from the 4th objective, the enemy was already there to shoot any defender that entered the building.
If they achieved their victory, solely from this squad… Please tell me how that is not a pay-to-win?
Because without the paratrooper squad, my team would have bled them of their 100 tickets before they even had time to capture half the objective. If you look at the scoreboard, we had eight players who were actively using their engineer. And we were doing a great job at holding them back and bleeding them out.
But not for the fifth…
A single premium squad, ruined the whole fucking match by exploiting the roof and it’s capture zone.
Special Operations, right there.
Give that C-47 pilot a Medal of Honor, for flying directly into the middle of an active warzone (in broad daylight), and doing a precision drop with a squad of elite soldiers with 100 drum mags (and a crate of supplies), all within a small radius.
That’s sooooooo realistic and totally not pay-to-win. (Sarcasm)
I don’t know if I can hang around that long. I’m on the fence, trying to decide which FPS shooter I should start allocating my free-time. There’s a long list of titles out there. I originally picked up Enlisted, because the marketing claims:
Enlisted is a squad-based first person MMO shooter covering key battles from World War II. The game carefully recreates weapons, military vehicles and the atmosphere of that era, while demonstrating really massive clashes of numerous soldiers, tanks and aircraft with artillery and naval support.
But the longer I’ve been here, from my perspective, the further the game has deviated from it’s marketing description.
You mean like how roughly 3 days ago I was able to successfully mow down an entire paratrooper squad before they touched the ground? (Mounted MG but still, you get the point)
