I agree, what makes games great is their differences. When games are too similar a competition begins. For example, Post Scriptum and Hell Let Loose were very similar at the start. Hell Let Loose was slightly more arcady but what eventually declared HLL as the “winner” were continuous updates that PS couldn’t keep up with. In my opinion, Enlisted has a feature no other game has, the ai squadmates. I think we need to currently focus on bugs and imbalances than planning future updates as i’m assuming the game will fully release when Tunisia comes out. A lot of bugs are still in place that i really don’t understand how they haven’t fixed yet Ex: Turret glitch has been a thing for at least a month. They have also done a pretty shit job at balancing: Jumbo, Russian smgs, P2W squads of FG42s.
fg42 isn’t even that great. Technically it should be even stronger, because it fires the 7.92x57 same round as the kar98
The reason they nerfed it was because it made the game frustrating to new players that only had bolt actions.
Downed soldiers shouldn’t revive imo. Then bolt actions would be a real beast.
If “providing a viable role for engineers” counts as a reason to compromise with historical accuracy, then I really don’t see the difference between that, and “providing a viable role for paratroopers.”

It was balanced cause it got 3times more bullets then any other similar weapon. Now it follows same rules as other weapons
the paratroopers as they would be too similar to the assaulters "without a separate modality or something special to them I find it hard to add them
fg42 is a machine gun not a rifle they should replace it with stg44 i find it stupid to see soviet and american with assault rifles and the Germans with fg42

how is the STG making the gameplay better than the FG?
it will be the same issue, very effective fulll auto gun / high capacity gun, on a soldier class that has more units in an active squad. Troopers need to have overall worse weapons because they have the advantage of higher numbers.
Like the balance between mg squads and assaulter squads is that mg gunners get the overall better guns, but they move slower and assaulters get the 35 bonus HP in the end. Both have 7 Soldiers in the squad.
Now a trooper squad gets 9 active soldiers, which have good mobility as well as the 35 bonus HP perk. The logical downside to these is worse guns.
Giving troopers the FG or a STG, or just any of those high end automatic all rounder guns just doesn’t make sense.
The FG 42 discussion is not about the gun itself, it just highlights the problem with too good guns on the trooper class, because the FG 42 is the best out of all full automatic trooper guns.
I say this only because in the description of the game fg42 is described as “light machine gun” instead all the infantry end rifles for the american and the soviet are automatic rifle it is just strange seen American and Soviet with automatic rifle and German with light machine gun then stg44 it is the best choice for this however giving an auto rifle to base infantry in WWII is anachronistic so i agree with you
