Some campaigns have their own special perk for factions the Japanese have the best air fighting capabilities in dog fighting with zero and the allies have the ground combat with superior weapons on the ground.
The swords are nothing more than a joke in the Pacific it’s more of a psychological weapon than any practical use just use the shotgun that fixes most of the problems.
I see you are not familiar with the mystical properties of the Japanese masterwork Katanas m’sir. tips fedora
I, an avid practioner of the Eastern arts and somewhat of a swordman myself, am familiar with the true awe-inspiring capabilities of the Japanese katanas.
They were far superior to anything the europeans built. A puny longsword? swoosh-chong Cut in half by the razor sharp yet flexible blade. A Machine gun? A true Samurai could deflect over 1000rpm with his blade - only the famous mg42 which was specifically developed to counter the threat of the Ninja and the Ronin could threaten the mighty Katana-wielders. The Katana could even slice through the side armour of a Sherman in close quarters, proving the undoing of many overconfident Gaijin in his steel casket.
The Katanas in enlisted are totally nerfed.
The new “high firerate Jap SMG” looks promising, still that campaign seems pretty one sided, Thompson BAR and Johnson vs mostly trash guns.
I tend to do fine against the Japanse when I fly in the Pacific as Allies, I prefer the Bufalo to the Wildcat though, and I bought the Boomerang, the thing is you don’t want to dog fight with any of the Japanese planes. I always try and extend, and Jump them and then run, zoom and boom
The AA is totally fine imo, you just need to hit them more than once or twice, it is not easy to always land a crippled plane as well, and it takes them out of the fight for a while, so even you just damage them your cockblocking them.
The only thing that the Japanese have going for them is the belief in the power of anime and some debatable stuff cough cough degenerates.
And if this actually becomes a thing.
Allow replacement of soldier models - English speaking section / Suggestions - Enlisted
and if the degenerates get this added into the game then they’ll unlock that ultimate power and then no one will win the Pacific anymore as the allies.
You can shoot a plane with a Kark98 in any campaign… I have done it in Berlin, Moscow and in Pacific I shot one with a single shot from the initial anti-tank weapon. It’s just a matter of aiming at the pilots and a little luck.
Skill issue.
F2A is fast, FP-3 and the Avenger are both tough, all the Japanese planes fall apart with a handful of hits.
Not gonna lie, Pacific Allies was the shittiest grind experience for me so far, notably worse than even allied berlin.
The main reason is that the team just sucks. Minimum 50% of allied pacific players are retarded. Bots play the points but these just camp in a semicircle around it whether attacking or defending. Incredibly frustrating.
When you look at the match ups of equipment from my pov it’d be slight advantage for amis in terms of equipment
Bolt Rifles = Japanese are better with superior sights
Semi autos = probably US with 10r Johnson
MGs = US Bar & Johnson are way better
AT =JP ATR slaps
Assault = Gonna give it to the US for m2 & shotguns
Bombers: US, Dauntless is the best
Fighters: Zero for PVP, FP for bomber farming
Early tanks = US (Stuart)
Late tanks = JP (last unlock is way better)
The one big advantage of JP is that they have way higher frequency of paratroops than US due to how the event was set up.
Their planes are made of paper, just shoot them.
I think it’s a close one with the type 96 & 97 having tighter dispersion and comparable reload speeds; plus the type 97 gets a 3x scope and the type 96 gets a bayonet and half the recoil.
I find the air combat pretty balanced: like most campaigns it mainly depends on who gets the first shot. Personally, I’ve been shot down by both sides pretty evenly when it comes to ground fire.
Well one of the 2 planes is a flying boat with no front facing machine guns…
Also the Allies are blessed with an M13 which melts through pretty much any plane. I often play a ground AA role on both teams specifically because it’s so easy to shoot down planes on either side. I have the most fun as AA in the Pacific campaign over any other.
The Pacific is basically a horde simulator for the allies when the Japanese attacked them Falling out of the sky with samurai swords coming out of bushes with samurai swords yeah that’s basically the Pacific campaign.
You do realise you getting shot down is a good thing. Fighter planes are the most useless class in the game atm.
Theres nothing more infuriating to me than a fighter pilot spam asking for enemy pings while your team mates are doing all the hard work taking or defending the objective on the ground.
Get back to the ground and play the objective.
Surprise surprise, the matches where I didn’t feel like I was sealclubbing/getting sealclubbed and that felt roughly equal matches that I had on Pacific were with decent (and by decemt I mean not crackheads a-la chinese) players on Allied side with MID-CAMPAIGN (up to around Lvl 31, so maybe not so mid, but no M2s yet) unlocks against decent players on Axis side with late-campaign unlocks simply because of existence of M2 Carbine that ruins the balance on the ground.
I found the wildcat more than sufficient to loiter around their Aircraft Carrier and take enemy planes out of the match. (out of AA range obviously)
Also once you unlock the garand, nothing really becomes a problem. Garand is all you need. Bars, Johnsons and M2s are just gravy.
Pacific Planes are paper thin, AA gun can nuke their 4sses, else you can always shoot them with ATR amd the first “tank”
While you are right that the Japanese planes are slightly better,
planes as a whole are a huge noob trap, anyone who uses one on Pacific is intentionally dragging their team down, be glad they have someone wasting 10% of their team flying a zero.
F2P >> A5M4
SBD (bombload) > D3A1
AP-1 (has front MG) > B5N2
new FP5 (HVARs) > A6M3
100% skill issue
Just wait for Sherman
Won’t help much.If DF matching system want you to lose, you will.
Grind for M1 rifle,M2 carbin, M1C,M9 bazooka to fight back.
Even though I have the M2, so far I only use it in limited numbers. I find that in Pacific the average engagement distance is still mid-long, so I’m reluctant to ditch my Springfields and Garands.
To be more accurate, fact is that BAR and Johnson are better than Japanese MGs if used in AR role, which is currently the main use of any MG since bipoding is still broken.
In favourable conditions (prone and mounted) Japanese MGs aren’t that bad.
The earliest one (Spoon Gun) can even be hipfired to clear buildings with decent results.
