Still will be fun to see xD
Thank you so much for your kind gesture towards your fellow forum members!

I mean yeah, but while things like the Ho-Ri are “paper prototypes” at least they’re based on something real, but that’s just über made up haha
The Gestapo gun xD Like the Japanese electric tanks are two of my favorite jokes xD
Gib the wehrmacht their rightful jetpacks!
Isn’t Hori based on the personal ideas of a reddit user who was hired as war thunder consultant and later admitted he/she basically made the Hori up?
The stats for Ho-ri is fake, but the appearance is still based on that wooden mock up for the Ho-Ri project.
Meanwhile the SDK silenced rifle is just a post war made fake WW2 German gun.
That’s one of them (“prototype”, I believe).
Isn’t the second one completely made up?
Are we supposed to receive this abomination soon?
UPD: ah you mean Yoshiro’s suggestion
The appearance is still based on that wooden mock up. Didn’t you notice ho ri prototype and ho ri production in game looks almost the same.
From what I understand there are claims that the wooden mockup is either fake or not even for the Hori project, which was forged by the Mai person freelance working for WT in the past.
"For those who don’t know, here’s a brief introduction. The Ho-ri project did exist in history, even though no prototype was completed. However, the real Ho-ri is a very different vehicle. It was based on a Type 5 Chi-ri chassis, with secondary 37mm cannon. The armor was much weaker, though. It used two engines, rather than one. The Ho-ri in game was actually created in 2016.
What’s funny is, DMM actually asked Japan Ministry of Defense to check their files, and it was confirmed that the Ho-ris in WT never existed, not even on paper, until 2016.
It’s a joke. A fictional vehicle with two types respectively naming “prototype” and “production”, while its real-life origin never had any prototype completed, not to mention any “production".
Looks like Gaijin have announced they will be removing fictional vehicles like R2Y2 and possibly Hori from WT.
A prototype is a functional or semi functional weapon, so unless the wood mock up can drive and shoot it’s not prototype
I’m far from being an expert on Japanese tanks of WW2, but it’s worth noting that the linked thread mentions sensha-manual blogspot - which is exaclty the blog of MaiWaffentrager who later wrote “Information on vehicle is NOT accurate as of [9/3/2017]”, took down the “updated” link and also said this on Reddit:
I am not in support of the Ho-Ri as shown in game. Gaijin asked for material on the tank many years ago, I provided them with everything that was known to the JP community, and presented them two options. One being a historical version of the prototype that began construction, given the details it was written on. And another, a what-if option due to the limited details being known. Gaijin did not like how poorly the tank statistically did, and asked to introduce a copy of one tank but give it better stats for the sake of gameplay.
I was paid to give them what they want, and promote their addition. I did exactly what was always instructed to me. And when I left, I took down everything they asked of me and began aiding in the effort to change the tanks to historical sides.
Now, I have only searched WT forums a bit but there seems to be a consensus that Hori as seen ingame is fake and will be soon/eventually removed as Gaijin do with fake vehicles in WT.
Even if we take a look at the picture above and take it at face value, it seems to say:

Meanwhile the “Hori” we have ingame is 65t and not 40t, the engine is 935 HP and not 550 HP, it doesn’t have the 37 mm gun or the 20mm cannon at all, etc.
My personal understanding is that
- no Hori was ever built, nobody knows if it would even work (enough evidence for me to never have it in Enlisted)
- the wooden mockup shown above was most likely an early concept shape/not finalized/not selected for further development
- the “Hori” project was maybe something more akin to this (judging from the technical data, if it is to be believed):
But once again, none of this was ever built or proved to even be realistic to drive and not collapse (given what kind of tanks Japan actually managed to produce).
The link I gave you literally said that author shouldn’t be trusted.
I’m not sure why you are arguing about the stat, I already told you the stat for ho ri in game is fake.
Does any of this matter? The original debate is at least ho ri is based on something real(the wooden mock up) but SDK silenced rifle isn’t.
Looks like every decent player is playing Germany or Japan, at least on the EU servers. It’s legit a pain to play matches and try to get points, let alone to win. (Sucks, because I have nothing open for Germany and Japan.) No rallies, no attacking or defending the points, no marking tanks or AT guns.
That’s what I’m trying to say – I don’t think that’s the case.
I don’t think this thingy was an actual tank model:
The frontal plate doesn’t look like anything Japan was producing or designing in WW2.
All their other AFVs (even concepts) follow a similar idea about the front:

And given how Hori’s specifications also mention 105mm 37mm and 20mm, I think even if it had been built it would’ve looked very much different from the triangle we have ingame.

Wooden mockups might serve as proof of concept/used for demonstration purposes, but they don’t actually reflect the final shape of the vehicle in metal.

I find the suppressed weapons not Bad, and the Pistol i like!
Weird logic. Using such logic Germany will not have panther with sloped frontal plate because the previous tank like tiger 1 and panzer 4 don’t have it. It’s not like Japan never met tank with sloped armor during WW2. Why wouldn’t they try to design a tank destroyer with sloped armor.
Because the wooden mock up is only an early design. That specification is for the accepted design of Ho Ri which we known as Ho Ri 2.
Did I said that wooden mock up represent the final design of Ho-Ri?
The point is it is still a real design.
So unless you can prove that photo of the wooden mock up is forged or else you are wasting your time.
a wood mockup falls under paper, so if paper is fake, stacked paper is fake, a metal soft or heat treated is minimum to be a prototype.
Did I said paper is fake? You are just using your own definition of fake.
