Anyway - had my first experience on the receiving end today - guy got 166 kills before his squad was killed!!
I know about problems with mortars and agree with them.
The point here is that I was not sitting in my spawn and camping like everyone - I was behind enemy line, near to their spawn (not a place where mortar would be expected). A little challenge to try.
Proof that only limiting fire from spawn is simply not enough.
It’s better to take away the ammo refill instead. Spawn or not, mortars can only be as useful as the one operating it.
Eh, I’ve seen a lot of mortars that only survive on nobody trying to counter them to begin with.
Usually all someone has to do is mark them on the map and say “mortar” in text chat and it gets hunted down. And I’m playing Soviet teams where there’s never coordination apart from that.
The mortars and artillery are fine imo. Its not too op since it doesn’t cause much damage. It causes a lot of head shaking tho. But mortars on spawn is a stupid idea unless there is a coordinated push with it into enemy spawn which most teams are incapable of
