New AA Guns are Aweful

Please change the AA guns back to what the used to be. It shouldnt take 12 hits to get the plan to go down. Or only to have a pilot to come and to take the kill form you. This is not a fun thing to play as much as it used to be and i hope it to be changed. Ammo is to little and not strong enough to be useful.

You can literally replenish ammo in few secs + from my experiences current AAs really aren’t something unusable. But they keep balancing them in last few weeks pretty often, so I really don’t know.

This topic is already covered Just do not bother Building AA gun for the time being

Yesterday some aa clipped my p47 wings in 1 shot. Keep in mind that p47 is surprisingly tanky for a plane.

Aa isn’t bad at all. Players just need to learn that planes don’t automatically explode mid air when hit by those. I didn’t, yet I had only one wing left… I “flew” for a bit a crashed 15 seconds later.

The aa guy indeed got the kill, just not instantly like most ppl expect.

Aa cripple planes, they do work.

Ya, the New AA guns are extremely lethal, and actually easer to hit with imo.

It sucks to be on the receiving end trust me, I fear the New AA guns more than the old ones when I am flying.

full of ave?

I definitely agree that the new update to AA has absolutely made them worthless. I say this both from the pilot and the AA gunner perspective.

The issue is that they made them do less direct damage to what they hit, and instead do a wider spread of fragmentation damage. (This would be fine if they made them “Flak” cannons and the shells detonated nearby even upon a miss.)
Ultimately it means far more chip damage spread out and less damage to what you actually hit, meaning you actually have to hit next to the part you want to damage rather than the part itself.

(I had a couple opportunities to hit infantry on rooftops and hillsides with them. Direct hits DID NOT KILL. It took 2-3 direct hits or 4-5 shots in very close proximity to kill. That speaks volumes about how the damage is calculated now.)

From the pilot side, I have very little issue with single AAs. They are rarely able to do critical damage until after like 4 passes.
That said, if there are multiple active AAs, then they are effective. However, if there are that many people operating AAs, then their ground troop front lines are unlikely to be making much progress.

They definitely need to readjust the AAs. Either by making them more capable against Aircraft or by making them dual purpose and let them aim down. This way they can help hold off infantry while also being able to target aircraft. HMGs still would be stronger against infantry, but this would keep these fortifications able to assist. with the ability to switch between targets, not solely focus on aircraft, making more than one being active at once a lot more likely.
