I mean, it’s decent, though the texture does look…off…and we only get two of them, because Heavens forbid they’d give you enough of the specialist weapons to outfit a squad. Gotta have that artificial scarcity—
I just don’t use prototypes, so I’m kind locked to BR3 (which I don’t mind)
I’d be happier with a BR II TT US Machine Gun as well. Let’s hope THIS TIME they actually listen to feedback.
(Same goes with BR III and BR IV or V British MG’s.)
I really wish we had this one with the optic:
M1909 Benet Mercie - America’s First LMG

This way Allies will have 3 unique LMGs in early BRs.
Even though Americans didnt really used it in WW2, British and French did so it makes some sense to add
No thanks… i enjoy using the 1918 over A1/A2 even in 3.
Make jungle bar suggestion maybe
I believe the Browning 1918 will need some nerfs if loweres to BR 2 to distinguish it from its other BAR counterparts, but also to make the Bren gun a viable alternative.
The reason the Bren is at BR 2 is because of it’s obstructive sights, lower firerate, and horizontal recoil.
I do agree though the Americans do need a BR2 machine gun, but to do that, a slight nerf to the Browning 1918 will be needed, because quite frankly, it isn’t weak at BR 3.
IDK, the M1918 was specifically designed for hipfire and the others weren’t so this dosnt make much sense. Also it was way lighter than the others so a slowdown dosnt make sense either. Maybe a different one?
The ultimate would be if there were a jungle BAR at BR2 and the plain 1918 got no speed penalty or only 10% due to the lighter weight would be my preference. Historically with the adoption of the A1 and A2 soldiers removed the carry handles and bipods to reduce weight. And ironically the issued bipod wouldn’t have helped accuracy as much as people would like to think because it’s barrel mounted which can mess with the harmonics and accuracy.
balance > what ever realism when ever it suits someones bias.
seeing something you don’t like and calling it bias is actually crazy.
Me: “IDK the M1918 was actually specifically made for hip fire so it wouldn’t make sense for it to be the worst one at it. Maybe there’s a different MG or version/prototype that would work better in that role.”
You: “Duhhhhh must be an American bias loser who wants the US to curb stomp every other nation”
I wish they were more set in their roles instead of just normal, better, best. It would be cool if the M1918 was better at hip fire and the M1918A2 better at sustained fire and the M1918A1 somewhere in between.
I think their was a prototype BAR that would work well in BR 2 as well.
Quite contrary, ive been supporting nerfing one of the bar’s and sending BR2 about as long as someone mentioned it.
Balance > what ever bias you think is suitable.
Sure looks like it.
I disagree, most cases like these are early>late and the BARs are the exception. I mean if you look at the tree guns marked early are almost always way better than their counterparts. Heck, even Thompson’s are all chronologically from latest to earliest.
you literally siad
so yes you did
oh my God, you said it again and still said the statement above.
I never did anything unbalanced, I just tried to maintain some sort of history. I suggested nerfing another stat or putting a different MG in BR2 or a different BAR. A later version of the bar would make way more sense with those nerfs, or a prototype one for that matter. That’s not bias or unbalance my friend. That is trying to find something that does what you want without breaking history.
Its not really supposed to be assault rifle in disguise.
With proper nerfs, sure it can go with other crap lmgs to BR2. Like the lewis assault rifle, which is ridiculously good. Only saving grace is that its rare due to event.
As it is ? Fuck no.
Ah yes, in game of postwar jets and assault rifles no one ever heard of its extremely important.
The Hyde assault rifle had at most half the amount of jungle BARs made.
Please gain some maturity, its pathetic.
Anyhow, I never said it was an assault rifle in disguise (although some consider it the first battle rifle and it was very good at hip fire)
I never said it should go into BR2 as is.
I am really not sure where this fake me your responding to is, but I would like to give him a piece of my mind.
Nothing in game is post, only the STG44 is an assault rifle and I’m sure you have heard of it, and just because you have not doesn’t mean other people are the same.
Sorry if my disagreement with your ignorance of how the game functions hurt your delicate feelings.
Su-9
Sure.
Unlike the Hyde Or AS44 which most likely neither saw action, yet being “meta” it kinda blows out your history argument.
The AS44 certainly didn’t because Sudayev, the man who invented both the AS44 and the PPSs, died before it could be properly finished. They never got past prototypes, actually competing with what would become the AK-47 and other protypes but Sudayev died so it never got past the seven prototypes existing up to that point.
