Nashorn should be moved to BR3

It seems you have the story completely wrong with this. The post (which I made BTW, here’s the link 試製ジテ弾 / Experimental Ji-Te AT grenade launched from the Type 97 AT rifle - A domestic BR4 weapon for Japan) was all the way back from November of last year, so not “right before it’s implementation” by any means. It had also been suggested plenty before I made said suggestion as well.

To balance out its 30mm guns having next to no ammunition compared to the other jets. Only 50 rounds per gun is a huge nerf - especially so when games against high BR US players typically have a decent amount of planes.

Swords are almost nothing, and even available to other nations, stop acting like a child.

Yes, but actually no. Back then there actually existed a body armor slot like the pouch slot on each soldier - this mechanic simply never got finished, and a cosmetic it became. Considering all nations had this slot, I suspect it was supposed to be an alternative approach to the vitality perk. Also I remember seeing a “penetration” value on all firearms, hinting at a potential “armor penetration” stat, making some guns better at dealing with armor.

Long story short, there were alot of people strictly against all nations wearing armor, simply because that would be fantasy.

Where even are you pulling all of this from? It’s a single line of code. It has nothing to do with visuals.

Do you have any proof whatsoever of these claims?

The oh so OP FG42 does 15.3 damage at 10m, which turns to 13.77 with body armour, which is enough to down, not kill someone without vitality. That’s a rather crucial difference.

Or remove damage reduction entirely, like every other item of torso customization in the entire game.

Alright, I’ll concede that point. I double-checked, and the date is indeed November 25th.

The latest document I’ve seen is a separate one dated as recently as this past July.

If they’re giving it bomb load capacity just to balance out its ammunition reserves, I can live with that change.

It’s been ages since I’ve seen forum posts screaming that prototype experimental vehicles shouldn’t be added to the Soviet tech tree.

The MG 43 (100-round variant) and Super Pershing have both been added to the game now.

Of course there’s no solid data to go on, we can only guess. We can reference the player backlash when they scrapped the gold card shop to predict how people will react here.

This game was originally developed back when Gaijin was still based in Russia. I reckon the core code for body armor acts as a central framework holding countless other systems together, much like a tiny twig propping up an entire tree. Making any major tweaks to it could break everything in its wake.

The other possibility is they’re just plain lazy. Take Omaha Beach for example—they refuse to replace its generic buildings and store interiors. I once spotted eight identical shops and checkout counters lined up along the same street there.

If they completely remove the damage reduction effect of body armor, they’ll face furious backlash from all players who’ve purchased it, a conflict they have to avoid at all costs. It’s a total catch-22 situation.

So putting this overhaul on indefinite hold has always been their safer choice. After all, players can’t force them to rush changes, this isn’t Operation May Storm.

Body armor still holds decent value at BR 2 and BR 3 though.
At BR 5, two full-power rifle rounds are almost always enough to take out any infantryman regardless.
Wearing armor only shaves off roughly two shots needed to kill someone at most these days.

But here’s another issue: the STG line is now running into the exact same problem plaguing Japan’s tech tree. Japan locked three semi-automatic magazine-fed rifles that would naturally fit the main tech tree behind battle passes and events. For Germany, the overpowered full-auto G43 and Mkb 42(H)—prime candidates to fill the main tech tree’s assault rifle slot alongside the StG 44—are also hidden behind limited events and battle passes, leaving Germany’s core tech tree stagnant. This is a major flaw in their balancing approach.

It’s part of the TT.

Not an Assault Rifle. It’s a SF rifle, as it should be.

all this while the AVT was 1hit kill and FG was 2hit kill.
It took weeks, at most months to add AVT20 after the FG received the dmg buff that nullified the bodyarmor.

My sophisticated guess is that 99% of the games are played by people that are beyond bot bad.
Granting one side aimbot just to “fix” this winrate thing is quite ridiculous.

Traversing the map quicker is definitely not almost nothing… and they are not in every other nations shop to purchase freely.

What’s with the name calling? I’m mostly respectful when sharing my opinions… seems as if you have some dislike towards me given your past few responses… im going to share my rather controversial opinions and it’s probably healthier for you to just ignore them if it makes you feel so bad.

If you matched my vibe like in HE complaint topics where i routinely use the word crybaby i’d understand… but here yknow it’s rather an unreasonable opinion yet it’s one im going to have… i do not find an issue with balancing problems like this… why don’t we nerf tiger 2 into oblivion… why not p-47? why not destroy soviet weapon capabilities?

I very well know and understand some people’s frustrations with body armor… but jap swords are an advantage no other nation gets as well and give you an advantage when traversing the ever so terrible maps they are provided with… you have to rely on events like the current and pitiful odds to get them… while japs can get them from the shop and put them on every soldier.

Well you can’t just spend money and get swords anyway… i only got one from my extensive purchasing of gold boxes and barely from my silver crate endeavors… no other nation gets them for everyone through the shop though…

I suppose you do have a point… but then again id bring up how germans get the headshot reducing helmet on their assault engis through an event… and if people weren’t so butthurt over armor we could have had that for a squad on US or the jap one not just being on the biker.

It’s not exactly a fair comparison but it is one nonetheless… japs get swords in shop while no other nation does… only through events… soviets get body armor through app orders while only one nation gets them through an event.

Again, simply false.

You can ignore the fact you can buy them from the shop unlike any other nation… that’s ok.

And or that they give you an advantage? Being able to get it on every soldier is definitely that… helps establish quick flank rallies and changing pushes.

First - charge bonus speed for one soldier is insignificant compared to increased survivability for your entire army.

Second - since Germany got event BR2 SMGs that can rival PPS43 I stopped complaining about PPS43 specifically being OP, rather I say now those German event SMGs, together with PPS43 need to move to BR3. This is a direct comparison of your sword issue - limitation does not mean the other nations dont have it, like body armor for example.

Third - I have nothing against you, its just that the swords for Japan argument is only ever brought up by people defending body armor, which is increadibly dishonest cherry picking and does not justify soviet damage reduction at all.

P.S. I find melee so insignificant that I even unbinded my melee button a couple of years ago.

Well, in fairness the japanese swords do provides a significant advantages when you actively use them to traverse the battlefield quickly rather than actually using them for melee. One example being that the sword given to engineer can quickly repositioning by charging with sword when attacking/defending in the invasion game mode and build rally points very quickly to maintain the momentum etc.

This doesn’t mean that the body armor is fine as it is ofc. Body armor dmg reduction should be gone entirely or be reduced to something like trivial numbers like 1% dmg reduction.

I suppose you are right… it’s only active when you’re holding it and taking advantage of it… whereas armor is reduced damage all the time.

Yes… it does mean no other nation has as easy access to it… to act like i’m being 100% literal when saying that no other faction has access to is also dishonest… im obviously referring to them being able to be bought for every soldier where no other faction can do that.

Then I begin to wonder why every comment from you towards me recently that i’ve seen seems to have some derogatory remark in it or just being rude… i know in the notification tab when i see you responded to my comments there is something entertaining to be read.

I just scrolled back and one simply just said “shut up”… exactly what i mean by if you don’t like it then just don’t say anything at all… talk about being a child… and i do know the context for that was also rather rocky but it was pretty logical… if you have never used something and are only basing your opinion on how its like to go against then i dont think thats really reasonable.

I don’t make use of weapon butt melee either… but you’re just ignoring that it does give you an advantage at times in that aspect… you have to switch to it and it gives you already a boost but combined with charge it’s even more effective.

All of that is beside the point though… again it is an advantage no other nation has… and to bring up you can get it through events well you can also get damage reduction but on helmets for german assault engis.

You wanted to call me a child for continuously pointing that out and while it may be perfect definition of “whataboutism” but nobody wants to complain about that when it is something no other nation has unrestricted access to.

Not at all am i claiming its as significant as body armor but responding to the issue that its an advantage no other nation has… well there are other examples of that as well and one i pointed out… and i will not repeat myself with the event headshot armor or jap biker.

Only one guy in a squad needs a sword as only the player will use the sword to run especially since you basicly only run with the melee to escape spawn since otherwise you are defenceless if you run into enemies. So there isnt really a need to equip anyone else. The few squads that I do run in the other factions i can just equip with the truck load of event melee from my pile.

Bringing up that as the one thing that makes japan unbalanced is laughable at best.
Even if you remove the TT sword you dont solve the problem that then Japan will be the only faction without a sword as the katana was given out exactly once (maybe even twice) but as an optional reward only so nobody will own it if I recall correctly.

There are a couple of things that trigger me, Nr 1 being people using “skill issue” as a balance argument. I am so done with people attacking players directly, questioning their personal abilities, instead of having a reasonable discussion.

I remember telling you to shut up, but what that exactly was about I dont remember.

The other thing that triggers me alot is when people use “just flank bro” as a tank balance argument. Completely idiotic approach to balance, cant stand it.

And lastly, over the years I got fed up when people started using Japanese Catanas as a counter argument to nerfing Soviet armor.
Seriously, there are so many arguments I heard in defence to armor, but the Catana one is pathetic.

Its not my fault that you are choosing to approach discussions from exactly those angles that I hate. We both simply disagree strongly. Nothing personal.

Swords are pretty powerful in CQC if you have stamina and sprint speed equipped. I’m not up for dipping into the body armor debate (again) but pretending swords are, essentially, nothing is disingenuous or naive.
