it’s high-level in Moscow and will likely be entry-level in Normandy. Meaning the MP35 and 38 would become completely pointless if someone with 4 hours into Normandy can just jump past 60 hours of Moscow progression.
imo there is no enough playerbase on this game. and ill never be.
the diferent campaigns will just scarce the playerbase even further… the game will be a queue simulator with nothing much to acchive.
also… i want to play D day, not chateu do bosq or what ever that is. that mode its just boring…
I have always likes sidegrades. I also dislike that you can not see what perks someone has. You have no idea whether you are facing a rank 1 soldier or a rank 5 with vitality perk (unless premium squads). That’s why I have proposed a sidegrade system through backpacks and other bodywear:
ammo pouches give more ammo but slow you down
armor pieces give more damage resistance at certain spots but slow you down
equipment pouches lets you carry 1 more grenade/medkit but slow you down
not wearing anything speeds you up
this way you are sidegrading and can visually identify what someone is wearing/using.
Why not just make it so that bolt actions are the only weapon capable of oneshotting on torso at any range? (not buffing damage, but buffing damage falloff over range) let semi’s and LMGs 2-shot on torso up to mid range, but force LMGs to use bipods, unless it is a walking fire LMG (like the BAR), which generally only have box magazines and would have high recoil
SMGs, pistols and carbines would 3-shot and have much more damage falloff, but carbines can be fired a bit faster and have basically 0 recoil compared to semi’s. pistols would have more recoil and smaller magazines in return for being a sidearm.
weapon upgrades should be sidegrades:
lighter bolt increases firerate at the cost of recoil and accuracy
heavier bolt decreases firerate but improves recoil and accuracy
diffrent ammo types can provide more or less damage, damage falloff and recoil/accuracy depending on bullet weight and powder load.
stuff like that
After reading you post, i agree with most things and going to the part about the bots, it is your opinion too because at the end of the day, first person shooters of today would usually go for the Call of Duty or Battlefield trend because thats what people are used to. Enlisted kind of have that realistic feeling from games like Insurgency Sandstorm, Post Scriptum, Rising Storm 2, etc. (not Escape from Tarkov because that game is very fucking realistic.) and the reason why theres not alot of players aside from the PC community, is because they don’t want to go get angry at the fact dying at 1 to 2 bullets and spout bloody murder because TTK is quick. Minus points too since tactical FPS games on PC would range from good to bad dependent on if a developer can actually make a game in the first place. And about the bots, sure they are dumb as hell right now, and I wish Gaijin would take a look at them more, but at least it’s unique at their own right. To close of my take, yes the game should be more realistic, but at least work on the AI programming more. Thanks.
P.S. : The fact that enemy bots can snipe you 2 kilometers away with a semi-auto rifle when you can’t see them is fucking horseshit.
You and me both brother
I mean, yeah, they would have to change the way progression works for my suggestion to work. In my hypothetical scenario the weapons would just transfer between campaigns. You would still get the same squads, you would even get the same weapon again, but you would also be able to transfer you already owned weapons between campaigns.
Read the whole paragraph; It’s inflammatory to draw your attention I will admit. The bots currently do not work at a fundamental level and are a complete failure in every sense. They do not push the player count above to anything unseen before in fps (120-140 give or take). You can not use them strategically at all because the commands are so completely barebones and basic (most of the time they just get in your way or act as cannon fodder. They completely lack any sort of individuality or any kind of attachment to make me give a rat’s ass about any of them. They are, in their current form, a glorified gimmick in every sense of the word. They add nothing unique to the game. Plenty of other FPSs have added bots to their game to increase the scale of their portrayed conflicts, this is nothing new. There have been other far better hybrid FPS/RTS games made by far smaller and less funded studios. I don’t really see how the game couldn’t do a 180 to focus on individual player experiences, look at the shoddy basic terrible Lone Wolf mode the devs added, it works, and if they had spent more than a day on it, and not tried to hide the fact that you are still playing against bots it could actually become a viable alternative to the regular mode.
i swear 90% of the people wanting to keep the bots must be management at my work. not qualified to be in their positions making changes but have all the answers which are horrible. too stupid and lazy they continue to dump money and time into a project that they know will fail but do it just to show something is happening and keeping corporate happy. question: why does my squad have to hang on me like im their god dam mother and they are 1 year olds? why cant they be trained to act like real soldiers? its not that hard, just code the basic field manual and squad tactics. also don’t understand why its so hard to get bots to act the way they should ,every other game can do it just fine. why does the bots in arma series work fine but enlisted cant even tell an enemy at point blank range.
Issue is - if not for the bots, what does enlisted offer compared to other WW2 shooters? Nothing.
It’s a free to play game, made with a unique engine(dagor) that can be well optimized, not UE4 and their constant performance problems across plenty of games.
Enlisted can catch many War Thunder players which are a big community so it’s a bonus.
Enlisted can bring the Battlefield series arcade feeling but keeping realistic units and equipment which failed completely on BF V.
Enlisted needs to skip the bots thing and open the maps more, if the game is well balanced and funny players count will increase.
Enlisted is for those who feel HLL or PS too serious and somehow difficult to enjoy, but in the other hand dislike games like BFV and Cod for no innovation and hackers fest.
Insist to put time and resources on those stupid and mobile respawn bots is a bad idea, the game needs to face balance between perks, economic model for paid vs non pay players and really needs more maps and vehicles.
Imagine getting so infuriated that people are citicising your take, that you go on tirades telling everyone to reread your post.
If you have bad criticisms, just own it man.
Sounds nice in theory, until you realise that the servers would be 20 players without bots. 20 players would feel so dead. Keep the bots and work on their behaviour
Because the game is very limited and repetitive at the moment. If there are few players means that the game is not good, or marketing is to blame.
Low player base = low money to devs, so adding bots just to keep the tiny community happy is not a smart move.
Let the game launch open beta and let’s hope for things to improve.
Gaijin has barely marketed the game at all, so it’s clearly that.
I doubt they’re super keen on marketing a closed beta
Heroes & generals
it’s not unique, as many other games have been created with this engine.
that’s on the devs, if it isnt properly optimized. At least EU4 doesn’t look like low graphics are on when you are on high. Also dagor has a LOT of issues under the hood. Dagor is merely a choice, not an improvement over anything.
war thunder is actually rather small. Enlisted also lacks a lot of the tanks players would be interested in.
Heroes & generals, squad, post scriptum, red orchestra 2, all offer that too.
but it’s not? Have you seen the 35% extra health perk? Not to talk about all the other issues.
Still, heroes & generals exists.
sure, we do need all those other changes. but removing bots would actually hurt progress towards those other things, as removing the AI would actually take quite a lot of time. And the game will need them in the long run if it has any hope to survive.
Launch open beta now and the game will close down within a year, I guarantee you that. Currently Enlisted is going nowhere with the ammount of issues it has.
Lol Heroes & Generals? That game is too old to compete with anything, old engine, same maps over and over, horrible graphics, it has bots because player base left over the years and so on…
Tell me another Dagor engine fps? Not even Cuisine Royale counts.
Post scriptum… red orchestra and Squad have battlefield arcade feeling from battlefield series? Please avoid those nonsense comparisons.
War Thunder has a daily housands of players, and I told that Enlisted needs much more vehicles to please that community.
The engine is important, Dlss and Ray-Tracing are not seen on other free2play games, besides H&G like you mentioned also has bots, so how Enlisted bots are something new? Only because they are in squads? Please try better ideas to this discussion.
Bots are one of the main complains here also the unfair perks, both need to be removed or heavily modified.
This game is on development for years, with closed betas or alphas majority of people don’t even heard of it, it needs to open to everyone, more players attracts more ideas and money.
Look what happens with Cuisine Royale, i know it has a new name but anyway, they tried to do a different battle royale and if failed, those abilities are not balanced or even good, forcing bots in Enlisted by saying it has a different approach from other games can be reason to fail this game. Even Cod has multiplayer bots you think people really play with them? They are the last option to fill servers or for people without good internet.
I wish i could choose to play with bots or not. Other than that the game is pretty good, i used to play Red Orchestra 2 and i think i have found a good substitue for it, finally
I haven’t completely figured out why i cannot have more mixed classes in the squads, but it is still in Beta, guess things will become more polished after a while. Keep up the good work ! ( And please add some more maps…)
It might surprise you, but Dagor is also over 10 years old. They have tried plugging its holes with new particles (that replaced 8 years old particles, btw) etc, but it is still showing its age.
And Heroes & Generals at least lasted years before they had to add bots as teammates (AI squadmates in enlisted do not count here as those are intended). Enlisted hasn’t even lasted 5 months and already has 3v3 matches glorified to 12v12 by 9 bots leading squads on each side. So H&G did at least something good.
For Dagor, you got War Thunder, Enlisted, Cuisine Royale, the new Age of Water game, IL-2 sturmovic, birds of prey, apache: air assault, and more. Each game has generally mediocre graphics even on max settings. Being only one of two first person shooters is a downside here, as they are the only games that required a actual human animation rig, first person shooting, etc, which shows with the mediocre animations that Enlisted has.
I did not say that. For realism, you got those games. for arcade, you got battlefield etc. I simply did not quote the entire sentence.
And the other WW2 shooter games have hundreds of thousands combined. A few thousand players is nothing.
DLSS and Ray-Tracing are merely new technologies. Within the next year, a lot of games will have it. They also are not supported by AMD GPUs so a lot of development studio’s might be hesitant to invest into the technology.
Exactly. You are leading a group. No other game has that.
Actually I’d say that 90% of complaints are balance issues, only 10% or so would be bots. The bots have machine learning, according to the devs. That means that they will get smarter over time.
Opening the game in the current state will kill it. Moscow campaign is already on life support even when everyone can play simply by paying $30.
Not really related to anything. You need something to stand out from the crowd. Abilities arent new for royales. For this game, it does not win out in graphics compared to battlefield games. It does not win in realism compared to RO2, PS or Squad. It does not win in anything.
And Enlisted has been sitting with that last option for over 2 months now. Nowadays even a 5v5 of real players is rare.
There is the lone soldiers mode. Except it is so dead that you need bots to ever get a match.
Note: While it might seem like I am hating on the game, I just hate to see so much potential go to waste due to terrible, typical Gaijin-like decisions before the game even gets off the ground.
Play Heroes and Generals.
