I was actually thinking of making a Japanese weapons tier list myself that will NOT include prototypes or foreign weapons. Knowing this game every Japanese soldier will have a prototype
Japan’s arsenal is going to be really odd. Seeing as they didn’t have all that much in the way of weapons.
And the USMC, early war, with its pretty trashy supplies.
Pacific fun!
Except of the semi auto rifle, they pretty much had everything, at least I think so.
Not really SMGs until later and even then one domestically made one. Most were MP34s and MP28s, again copy and paste stuff. Machine guns and bolt actions there are plenty of though
Nope they use a lot imported weapon and their army was main bolt-action
I mean, as for the balanced Pacific campaign proposal, and probably the highest quality campaign proposal on this forum, here’s the Suggestion for Pacific Campaign: Philippines campaign 1944
The thing is the US had more automatics and semi autos and thats a fact. They need new mechanics and unique squad make ups as a balance factor which I dont think this game will do. How about hidden rally points? Banzai rushes? All cool unique things because weapons wise they just aren’t equal
There are two solutions to the main problem, which is the lack of semi auto rifles in Japanese service. First is what they did with Italians - to give them one of their experimental ones. the second one is to focus on battles against the Commonwealth which didn’t have a semi auto as well. One of the best possible ideas (at least for me) would be the Kokoda Track campaign - interesting and unique maps, no vehicles, no semi autos and more unique weapons, such as the Owen gun.
Ive proposed as you said a battle against the Australian/British and the Japanese. Both have more unique things and are far more balanced than the US vs Japan. I am completely against the prototype semi auto idea and would rather add unique mechanics and tactics vs Call of Duty level weapons in the name of “balance”
Perhaps Ill make up a tier list of both
Italy used the mass produced beretta m18 / 30 (still used today) which is like the m1 carbine, they don’t even need to add the armaguerra but they did it anyway
The problem is that Italian tanks suck! How you going to balance that? Their tanks were horrible
I actually like this idea, it would diversify the current gear with new stuff and provide some incentive to try out Tunisia in order to get the new guns. The M1 Carbine would just need another recoil/sight sway buff and the experience could be MUCH better when it comes to competing against Armaguerra Mod. 39 users.
You mean this?
If so, I hate to disappoint you, but this thing is chambered in 9mm Glisenti, which for all intents and purposes is identical to the 9mm Parabellum, just lighter loaded. It is also the same round in which the Beretta M1918 and the OVP M1918 are chambered in. In short, it is a pistol round, not an intermediate round, like the .30 Carbine, which means that it’s significantly weaker.
Well, if they need, they can separate Type 100 SMG to early model, late model and naval paratrooper model
In addition, I think A13 cruiser tank and Daimler armored car should be replaced.
And I agree Italy should have Italian weapons… We have too many German C&P weapons.
a lot of weapons do different damage not because of the bullet but for belancing
I would suggest you learn how to use the semovente as a tank destroyer then you see how English tanks are no longer a problem
No they are not. They don’t fire rifle bullets (fully powered cartridge), they fire intermediate cartridge (7.92x33 kurz) that’s why they deal 8 damage.
If Beretta m18/30 is in the game, I suspect they will deal 5.7 damage just like other 9mm weapon (or 6 like mp35/I or 5.9 like OVP 1918)
I withdraw the previous statement but there are too many weapons with different damage, bolt-action included, so I don’t see the problem of changing things slightly to add some weapons
Has no MG and transmission can easily be destroyed, rendering you useless. Even with 75mm it’s still nowhere near the Grant and it’s 6 man crew/ weapons.
