having everyone be able to spawn in a transport truck would be a mistake-they would very quickly fill up the battle zone
maby have the option to use a transport truck instead of a tank and other payers can enter- to make them better also have the carry ammo for your team
Please reread my post. They would use tank spawns.
So the number of vehicles are limited.
Not really, the US M3 half tracks were so poorly designed, that even german machine guns could penetrate it’s armor plating, they were called “Purple Heart boxes” for a reason.
German ones were a bit better, cause they were designes as Assault vehicles, having sloped side armor, and a bit better protection against infantry.
I don’t see any of them being implemented as an infantry transport, they are just too easy targets in my opinion.
ah, sorry, i misunderstood that part
Yeah sorry. Not my mother tonque
i would like them so badly to be honest.
( so that i can buy skins for ma halftracks and decorations as well to happily spend money on my fashion-wagon )
and kinda reminds me of my old and ignored idea:
( sorry for the spam )
( keep in mind that is old, and we didn’t knew the puma was supposed to be a starter tank, nor that we could have multiple selective class upgrades )
problem is…
maps are to small. they could still be effective in my opinion, but maps are really that small.
Quickly move?
We are talking about 100-150m distances between spawns and objective.
People dont even use the motorcycles and the map vehicles (anyone actually used the boats?). Whats the point of sth. nobody is going to use anyway?
We are talking about 100-150m distances between spawns and objective.
That is a quite one dimensional view that ignores flanking. And if you want to shift from left flank to right flank it is quite a distance.
People dont even use the motorcycles
Yeah. Maybe. But that is not my problem. Isn’t it? It would be a feature you can use, but you don’t have to if it does not cater your playstyle.
In my opinion ppl to often just run in a straight line to the objective, but to discuss that you can fill a whole new topic.
Whats the point of sth. nobody is going to use anyway?
Simply put: Diversity.
Let’s remove all guns that are not used. All classes that are not often used. And all vehicles no ones uses.
Do you feel it? It feels empty…and in my opinion… boring.
diversity exist when its functional, example : having to choose between shotgun and smg is not divresity bc shotgun are useless and you will be stupid to choose them.
I would preffer to have special squads to use APCs to be honest.
Mostly because not all squads used halftracks. So giving one to a squad that never had one (take a note that squad names are historical) is a no no in my opinion.
Also I think that firstly we would have to change maps a bit. Because APCs were used to safelly transport troops for example through open areas. Now look at the Tunisia campaign, you basically fight from building to building. There are only a few sections of the maps in each campaign that are really open and could use APCs, but there are so scarce and so short that APC would be a dead weight in your roster.
Outside of that, yeah sure. I want my Panzergrenadier Regiment!
I am so a stupid guy, but boah are those shotguns fun in houses.
My stormtroopers have smg and shotgun and I really enjoy it.
I must be the best example that you can play very well as a brainless guy.
Seems to be another example for: You don’t like it, don’t use it. BUT hell good that it is here.
Yeah I like that twist too. And I agree that not all troops were motorized.
(Think of a scout troop with a fat loud M3 half truck XD)
i use them they are simply not good, like half tracks will be, but they even harm the team by blocking tanks respawn by this suggestions.
for the record i like half track and i want them, but in the current state of the game they are borderline useless.
And usually its better not using big and bulky APCs for flanking.
But then why wasting time with developing sth., if it doesnt fit in the gamestyle (yet)?
Like other people said, the maps are not big enough for inf vehicles being viable/ usefull. Even as spawn beacon since they are like 50-times larger than a beacon and would end up being locked all the time.
I mean yeah. I rarely see shotguns, T-26s, Pz. IIIBs, the second P-38 plane in Normandy or the Madsen after people unlocked the DP etc.
Nobody would miss them.
The main reason why they exist is the grind so people have more levels to grind.
Same thing just happend in WT, they did new game mechanic of digging, and it is almost useless as it doesnt absolutely fit gamestyle of game, and you get 100mx100m maps on toptier where most of those dig devices are, soo they added something some people want, but it ended up not being used by anyone, even by those people that requested it. Just wasted effort imo.
I think this is a good idea to add Motorized Infantry, I don’t see it happening the way you said it working though. I believe they would do something similar to the Motorcycle squad which I use a lot, I also use transport truck especially in Tunisia for moving my troops fast and flanking. I could see them adding a jeep squad, transport truck squad and half tracks if not other types of APC or transport for quads. I believe it would be best if they had a 3rd and different squad type feature rather than being Armored or just infantry like we have they should be Motorized Infantry. Having this would allow players to take tanks which the majority will see as superior to some transport for infantry. something to point out is we do have a version of the sd.lfz.251 with the small 35mm cannon in Normandy campaign modeled in game and ready to go at any time.
Something that is not exactly for this room but would aid in this suggestion is larger map sizes or more accurately the full map sizes and possibly a Enduring Confrontation of a sort where you fight over the whole campaign map.
aw…
i joined later to the party.
i hope there’s still the cake.
i like the idea, but assign halftracks to every squad in my opinion is a bit… too much.
cuz we would see alot of spam, and people blocking entrances or places ending up filling those just like happens so with tanks ( or like in CBT of normandy, pumas blocking d-day first bunker lol )
so, i think it would be reasonable to convert one of the squads to do so.
( avoiding needless grind for all campaigns at the bottom ) and being able to buy those vehicles through logistics to also not expand the grind just for an halftrack.
i made a suggestion not long ago, but nonetheless halftracks should be definitely a thing.
Maybe half tracked vehicles can be used as the revival point of the team, do not occupy the position of tanks, and each camp is limited to two half tracked vehicles.
I myself suggested this, but there is a disadvantage: the remains of these machines will be located throughout the map, creating an impassable jungle.
In addition, many maps do not even have room for them.
This works well in H&G because their vehicle wreckage disappears, and the size of the map is large enough for the number of players units, and generating these vehicles requires resources, you know.
Even in the current game. Players can do this premeditatedly, especially the defenders, they can use dozens of tanks to build a wall for the control point
To avoid abusing spam and blocking roads with vehicle wreckage. First we need a mechanism for respawn points / respawn scores.
It can be as simple as working like Ancient Coins and Soul Points do in CRSED.
