It’s a tough one isn’t it?
Moscow is in a good place at the moment… But there’s files already on the Kv, the t34 and… yes, the mkb42h for assaulters.
Adding those beloved metal beasts will make tank battles one sided for the Russians… but assaulters mkb will favour Germany.
German PZIIIL could actually pretty effectively deal with all of those beasts. But only by a skilled crew. Slightly angled even T34s and KV1s wouldnt penetrate it thanks to all that add on armor. And its gun could penetrate T34s in their turret easily. I kinda checked and it seems that KV1s and T34s turret are the weakest parts and can be penetrated even by PZIIIJ. But still the disadvantage would be obvious.
Just no MKB42H for assaulters. Come on this is moscow not Berlin. It didnt even take place in the battle
But the T50 was rare but at least it took part in operation Barbarossa. The MKB42H was first used in april 1942 500 km away from Moscow. I dont think it fits then
If they do split it off into larger front campaigns, Moscow would probably be “Eastern Front 1941-1943” while Battle of Berlin would be “Eastern Front 1944-1945”. That’s when the Soviets ended up pushing out of Russian lands into enemy lands, so that would probably be the best turning year.
My feedback says that we shouldn’t increase disbalance and make starter tanks useless. This armory race sucks at all as we get packs of useless guns and vehicles which could make gameplay more different. I’d agree on t-34 (40) with his weak turret and stug 3 with HEAT as a exception but kv and pz f2 are too overpowered for tanks and still too useless for fighting with infantry
I don’t think the addition of tanks to Moscow is a good idea with how AT guns work nowadays.
The germans couldn’t get anything historical beyond a Stug-3, which due to powercreeping would be a worse/turretless Pz.4 E, just like the LT-35 would be a worse LT-38 (Panzer 38 ingame).
Hungarians had tanks comparable to Pz 2 or early Pz 3, Slovaks had early Pz 3 equivalent, Italians had armored cars and something like a Pz 2, Romania is similar…
The soviets could get T-34s or KV-1s which did exist then, but I’m not sure I want to hear the complaints about 76mm guns tearing apart axis players.
The PTRS-41 is already a stretch to have in “Moscow”, although I guess it makes sense for balance since tanks seem to brush off the PTRD shots until a number of them accumulate (slow process).
The engineer’s AT guns seem like a joke, to be honest. In theory, the soviet one at least, it can penetrate every tank from most angles, and there’s some spots to kill tanks: engine, ammo.
In practice, it seems like waiting half a minute for the engine to explode is not practical, and that ammo can only be hit from the sides on most tanks, only in very specific points.
And that on the Pz.4 E, several shots are required to explode the ammo because of the distribution of the ammunition casuses that less shrapnel hits them directly.
