Simcade, as in as much realism as possible while taking some liberties to make the game more fair and/or enjoyable for the target audience. Idk if you are familiar with the “rule of fun” but it’s generalization to omit certain rules of a game or setting to better engage the audience that may not be looking to play “RAW” or rules as written. War Thunder does exactly this.
I believe this only applied for some ethnicities though. For example, Chinese people were allowed to serve alongside white soldiers, however, Japanese people were segregated.
It’s a term that’s been used for decades to describe games like Gran Turismo, Forza, War Thunder, and Arma. Not really a marketting slogan, it is a category of game.
What on earth makes you think i disagree with the war thunder approach of totally ahistorical random whatever sells total arcade system? I just said i totally support it.
Because what you usually do when things are slightly wrong or not perfect right? Shit all over it, light it on fire and drive it off a cliff.
Blue haired african americans in sexy nun outfits fighting viet kong in a nazi moonbase. It’s what the community wants.
I really dont know why people are against other races being in the game.
Its not like you care about historical accuracy, and neither do the devs.
We got germans running around with MKBs, PZIVF2s in moscow, and soviets with AS44s/Federovs in Berlin, and soon we will have BT-7s in Berlin and King Tigers in moscow.
So you complaining about:
“oohOhooHh ThEy WerEnT oN tHe fRonTlines” is irrelevant, because the game isnt historically accurate anymore.
God no, there weren’t many hispanic troops in the US forces, and those were mostly in the motor pool/logistics. It’s bad enough getting white guys with Asian surnames and Asian guys named like ‘Bobby Jones’ or w/e
I always reroll if the name is stupid. Even if I rolled a 10 on stats/rank. I know it’s a bit silly, because no one else sees it except for me; but I just can’t deal with that silliness
Funny enough, when I was in the army we had this 100% Korean guy in my platoon named James Jones. He spoke with the thickest southern accent and used to do rodeo stuff.
