I don’t care if I see it or even if it’s still used but it SHOULDN’T give an unfair advantage to a faction. At very least when they are shot they should be downed just like in real life…getting shot while wearing ballistic armour hurts.
And I own Soviet body armour…it’s free, they give out Appearance Orders like crazy…an investment is when we PAY for Premium squads and they nerf them.
There is a clear advantage to body armour when competitive players like Major always takes Soviets to use…body armour + vitality +better weapons =big advantage
Last I heard the helmet was a flat 10% damage reduction, Soviet body armor was also the same amount but with a movement debuff for stamina drain of 10% and a +10% dispersion debuff.
Everyone always focuses on the positive of armor and never the negative. They willingly choose to ignore the bigger picture like it’s not there knowing it has debuffs.
I still think all armor buffs and debuffs shouldn’t exist and should be purely cosmetic, with the exception to faction specific helmets.
People usually focus on things that are real…

This is the only thing that the resource mentions, body armour is only a positive.
Broken is broken, no matter how many cosmetic cards you spent on it.
A ww1 roblox game (entrenched) has figured this basic balancing issue out…compared to this you’d think the devs would have as well.
I guess there are simpler and less weapons and not such a wide array of balancing to do… that’s something to think about.
Movement penalties once again is the most obvious solution… simply removing something is not the way to go albeit would satisfy all distaste against this… similar to body armor only benefiting the user… then the user would be completely SOL as tbh who would buy the turtle armor anyway par from the oddball soldier customization… suppose it does stand out.
I ran 3x rifleman squads all with them and i would atleast remove them from the rifleman in favor of the radio, AT and engi if they did that… considering the disadvantages wouldn’t be in favor of the class playstyle.
Off topic but along with rifle grenades… instead of limiting their use simply to AT… as this would have solved so many problems
They would still be a deadly weapon to clear out fortified positions while being changed from a 2x 9man spam to smaller 3x AT squad or replace your reliable AT with a hit or miss AT capability but reliable anti infantry tool
instead they chose to make them absolutely useless which couldn’t suit desires more… there is a trend of making things just suck in the past major balancing choices which i have yet to see with the SF ones but am open to seeing different from my initial opinion.
You mean the Soviet steel breastplate?
It feels like there are a lot of debuffs we could apply to it, since we already know the devs will never remove it entirely.
Maybe we could make it a level-restricted item, with a minimum BR of 2 to use.
As for the weight, whatever it weighs should count toward the soldier’s encumbrance, since weight affects sprint speed.
Also, snipers, medics, signalers, and vehicle crew shouldn’t be able to equip it at all.
Looking at it this way, the breastplate would have historical restrictions and better class limitations.
The main issue is that this piece of gear is really strong and gets heavily abused.
I’m worried it might end up getting gutted eventually anyway, so it’s better to rework it voluntarily first.
Cosmetics should be cosmetic only and not affect gameplay
We don’t need trade offs don’t meed armor for other nations, don’t need everyone being a teenage mutant ninja turtles everywhere
Simply cosmetic only and only available in late war battles like Berlin.
