Have you ever as an infanfryman heard a tank shell impact/ricochet/penetrate a tank close to you?
Have you ever heard your teammates’ or enemies’ M1 Garand ping when ejecting the clip?
One time before stalingrad i was standing and jumping on a panther before if get hitted and i heard the sheel get deflected
You can hear allies and enemy reload but not the garand ping as far i know

The Garand should ping when its empty and not ejecting a clip with bullets in it, and it annoys me whenever I reload my Garand ingame.
