Medic "Miracle Max"

This is just a suggestion borrowed from many other games. Also just having some fun.

Currently Medics don’t really achieve much more than you can do without them (self rez, carry extra med kits). Not saying they can’t achieve more, just saying since the game is fast paced and lethal, there’s not much opportunity to. Because of this, medics mainly get used as another combatant (discount assaulter squad)

Let’s give them game influencing presence to patch up ticket bleed!!!

First, we define some additional states.

State 1: Player/bot is alive

State 2: Player/bot is downed. (can move and self res)

State 3: Player is Moslty dead. (Essentially dead. Player can respawn or wait for medic)

State 4: Player/bot is decapitated/incinerated/all fucked up or respawned…All dead.

In addition to medic’s current abilities, they can (and Bots automatically will) revive “mostly” dead players or AI to 50% HP. Ofcourse this would have to be gated with limited supplies, and a “revive time”

This way Medics value increase so dramatically, being a medic will be highly desireable. Potentially increasing a team’s effective tickets!!

Hate it how the only engineer in your squad always cops a random bullet before you can use him to build rally??? MEEEDIC!

The way I once imagined to increase the importance of medics was to introduce a negative effect mechanism. that is, the player has higher HP, but when hit by a weapon, they will get some debuff such as bleeding and disabled.Causes different states ranging from constant loss of HP, being unable to aim, to finally lying on the ground and calling for medics, and fill the battlefield with wails of pain. They can use the medical supplies they carry to treat minor injuries, but require medics to recover from major injuries and restore HP.

But the community I saw seemed to only enjoy simple run and gun gameplay, and hate complex game mechanics, so I quickly gave up on these ideas

you might be right about that. I guess I dont see this particular way of doing it changing anything for “those” players though. They will just choose to respawn and run and gun.

Less intrusive way of allowing medics to be mechanicaly strong for those that do enjoy a deeper mechanic…but easily ignorable to “those” players.

not for me,I WANT HELP AS MEDIIIIIIIIIIIIIC!

Personally, if you want to buff medics, you need to give medics something to do . Time to kill is VERY fast in Enlisted so healing really isnt enough … you need revives … but everyone can revive with a medkit … so you have to remove the ability to revive yourself and make only medics can revive, making medkits only heal (similar to how toolkits only repair vehicles). This would also reinforce the team aspect of the game.

ATM medkits are just assaulters that cant use ammo / grenade pouches.

Well yeah…just said it a different way
thats exactly what i was addressing

While your idea with revives is cool and could save many lives.

My idea is bit different. How about allowing medic boxes to passively heal allies in a small radius. (Like BF4)

So you can have medics give active decent but not op in combat health regen. Eg 1 hp per 10 seconds in a decent radius.

Yes i know the game is fast paced but I would appreciate some passive health regen during battle to help keep my soldiers alive and topped up. Also more convenient than finding a med box and taking a bandage using it repeat per soldier(which i would never do)

Thoughts?

Yeah sure. I had that suggestion in main thread aswell. Could exist side by side no problem. By itself i like it, but i dont think it would be a big enough change to increase medics being used as medics…more just a useful passive score farm while assaulting.

Fair point. There needs to be a real reason to pick them as atm they are like a knock off assault squad with no ammo bag or engineer.

Im grinding Stalingrad axis atm to unlock mp717 and man it is paain using medics with a mp28. I drop medic crates now and again but i dont see anyone using them.

There needs to be some sort of passive but meaningful advantage to using them. Also give them an engineer and allow them to build like an aid station that gives a large aoe or stronger heal.

I like the idea.

This.
They act as bullet magnets for some reason (or maybe enemy bots have a secret line of code where they shoot first the engies and then other specialists, who knows :eyes: ?).
