Ignoring the fact that the revive in battlefield is a single click where you can revive the dead.
You shouldn’t be able to revive the dead
Even if you could, it would need to take like 15-20 seconds otherwise it would be unbalanced compared to medkits. Which is way too long for a fast paced game like Enlisted.
Had a similar idea when I was thinking about a medic class. You could heal up every soldiers hp to some kind of % (like 50) And had a limited amount of medpacks/syringes to get the ones in downed state up. Could also drag downed players to safety as someone mentioned here. The medic tent is a nice idea as well, but I think the medpack chest would be heavily abused.
You can’t use a medkit on another player to heal him up I’m pretty sure, and if you can revive downed soldiers from other players squads (not in lone wolf) then my bad, I didn’t know that. Would still be nice to have a class dedicated to that, so a normal soldier doesn’t have to waste a medkit.
You see how they lie on the ground and shake their hands around to get someone to help them? You see how they yell out “help help” I feel like that is a thing mostly alive people do. But if you find a clip of a dead man crying for help and looking around with his hand up, be my guest to send it.
Except for that player they’re choosing where to respawn? They are dead. Anyways, theres no purpose for a medic in enlisted that does exactly what every other soldier can do (revive downed people).
Yeah but that’s not what we want the medic class to do, every class can kill someone from far away, why do we need sniper class, when even with MP40 I can snipe someone? Because it’s a specialized class exactly for that purpose, that is worse at something and better at something. Medic=revive is such a lazy mindset, think of all the things such class can do. There are already posts above that can bring up much more interesting stuff for the class then most of the classes we currently have.
What else to say? Enlisted is fast paced, and so medics would be very limited in effectivity. How many times you are seeing enemy just leaving your teammates downed (unless they die first)? That sight is rare, because they always finish the job on second shot so there is no way medic can run in and patch you up.
Not to mention they will be shot at on every single oportunity, by pretty much everyone even if that person is not attacking(which is technicaly a war crime…), and just healing/dragging wounded to proposed magical voodoo tent to heal them up to be combat ready in a few seconds.
Besides, having medkits is honestly already enough… Medkit perk can magicaly get you up with most of your health restored, backpack allows you to carry multiple of these. And even without perks medkit is almost guaranteed second chance for every soldier in your squad.
Also no idea what this means. Nonetheless, the soldiers in bf5 get downed, they don’t die, you still operate camera, look around, yell out, and you can choose whether you want to wait for a medic or die. The same way it’s in enlisted right now. Only difference is, in enlisted you can move while downed, can revive yourself + a critical shot into your body “sometimes” kills you right away. (headshots in bf also skip downed state just like in enlisted)
In BF5 there are two separate animations for when you “go down”.
The player who is shot dies and goes to the respawn screen. While there, if someone revives them they are given the option to accept or deny the revive.
A player who is not downed but is a medic will see “downed players” calling out to them for a revive. They can then go up to said players and revive them if they get there in time.
So is bf5 and it works just fine, rn you already wait 8 seconds to revive yourself when downed. You can’t really slow that down with a medic class.
Actually a lot. Even more so if you are behind cover and they can’t hit you if you are downed behind sandbag or a wall. Also if you have a squad vs squad on a field, a good player will down your soldiers but not finish them off, because they can’t attack and the soldiers that are still alive can. Meaning often times there is 4 downed soldiers on one spot because both squads decided it’s better to focus on the ones up and running and one squad usually wins.
That’s why you have to get crafty as a medic. You don’t run out into the open, you seek cover, you take smoke grenade (for the first time ever), you leave them die as you think it’s too dangerous. Plus if they are shooting the low/non combatant medic, they will reveal their position and you will be able to shoot them, they are spending their position, surprise effect, bullets and time to kill a important but non combatant role.
My favorite part in every movie is the voodoo tent with voodoo doctors with voodoo certificates who graduated from the voodoo school. When you get out of hospital don’t forget to thank the voodoo gods for saving you. You have a guy that can put out a AT gun out of his ass, a tank that can create ammo out of thin air the moment he stands on a correct place (same for planes), you get a guy that summons shells from outer space every 30 seconds and you drive line on a medic tent? It’s simplification, of course we can add 5 more doctors into the tent if you really want your immersion but why bother, its a simplification.
I don’t mind if it’s enough for the devs. If they decide they wanna leave it on medpacks, they can, it’s their decision. But this is a suggestion forum, and a medic class can have tons of interesting mechanics that could freshen up the game.
This is a screen when you are downed. If you wait and are revived, you get to go on. If you skip revive, you die and can’t be revived again. What you said is simply false.
No U wouldn’t suggest making a battlefield mistake because Gaijin and Dark Flow are aiming towards making this game the most realistic WWII FPS on the market for free. Also it would be kind of unfair
If there was a medic they wouldn’t be allowed to carry weapons because the Geneva convention states that no medic should carry a weapon, or be seen engaged in combat. At the very minimum just a sidearm as stated before
