Map preference: mode/map veto system

@CaptainSebekel Thank you for your very valuable contribution to the discussion. :+1:

actually it would. do you know why? cause of VETO vote. this is not what map you want to play, but what map/mode you DONT WANT to play.

in this situation people are highly likely to desert assault and train, but there is much higher chance of them staying in match with detonation and invasion modes. premium players could easily force assault or train modes with just few votes even though it is highly unpopular mode for majority of players and could even cause desertion increase.

yes for devs to completely ignore all problems and just punish people into playing their shitty game. i would rather quit playing the game than be forced to play assault and train when i dont want it.

i agree. desertion will stop cause players will stop playing the game.

well then maybe they shouldnt have deployed the game as f2p. f2p players are still valid part of the community. if you dont want f2p players you are free to play this game with only premium players and bots.

i agree. alongside with review on why you stopped playing the game and why other people shouldnt playing the game.

if devs make highly unpopular decision that would make certain percentage of people quit the game, i think that review bombing is quite justified. why would i care if it hurts the game cause devs made decision that made me quit the game?

@Adamnpee Thanks for always being the Stockholm-victim-poster-boy for DF in this forum.

That’s only just speculation. I am pretty sure most people do not like more than one combination of map/mode.
So there would still be plenty of reasons to desert anyway

They don’t ignore them. Now you’re really getting too irrational.

Surely. There were si many people who were claiming the same thing about implementation of merge.
Stop threatening with nonsense just because you lack any proper arguments.

Well, because the whole world just isn’t about you. In this case, to reviewbomb this game because this feature was made available only to paying players would imply - that f2p players who don’t want to pay 20/40 a year want to deliberately reduce the comfort of paying players the way that only they would benefit.

That would obviously be aimed against the supporters of the game.
Literally people who haven’t spent a single buck on this project would blackmail (the way it truly does damage the product) devs to implement change that would benefit only them.

That’s so bizarre, it would be illegal if this was case outside of gaming industry. It’s like threatening to burn down someone’s airport if they don’t start giving first class service to everyone for free.
That’s how shameless behavior it is. Pure activism.

lol another adam rant thread

what is only speculation? that choosing least hated map/mode wouldnt decrease desertions? please explain how did you come to that conclusion. also i am pretty sure that in op i mentioned that they could cast vote on all maps/modes if they wanted to, so they can vote for any combination that they dont like.

plenty of reasons, but at least you would almost remove map/mode choice from it.

yes it is ignoring the problem if only premium users have option to choose map and f2p dont. idk what percentage premium and f2p users are, but lets say they are split 20-80. so you fix game for 20% but dont fix it for 80% and you call this not ignoring the problem? who is irrational now?

and you wouldnt believe it, but some of them actually quit the game.

this is not nonsense. there are certain things that are dealbreakers for people. i know that if i was f2p player implementation of map vote for only premium players would be dealbreaker for me and i would quit the game. i have no problem quitting game when it becomes shit for me. i did that with WOWS cause i didnt agree with direction it was heading after 3 years with fully grinded account and some premium time left.

and whole world isnt about you either. if they didnt want f2p players to play the game, then they shouldnt have made the game f2p. i am premium player, but i always start any f2p game as f2p for longer period of time to actually see if it is worth it to play and spend money in that game. if this game had only premium players being able to choose modes/map that i could play, then i would never even bother with this game. map/mode choice is not comfort, it is basic game necessity, specially when you have lots of bad modes/maps. this should have been option since merge.

imagine f2p players voicing discontent publicly about broken game mechanism in f2p game. if devs dont want to provide decent playable experience for f2p players then they shouldnt have made the game f2p.

lol. blink three times if you are held hostage by DF.
review bomb is only way how players can make their discontent known and that can have effect on devs changing their decision about unpopular decision. f2p or paid(premium) players really dont matter cause they are both part of the playerbase and both of their opinion matters. there have been numerous incidents of purely paid users review bombing the game cause of shit dev decision, with most recent one being helldivers 2.
btw here is one of my favorite ones:

War Thunder was review bombed in May 2023 in response to recent controversial economic changes within the game.[76] The game developers quickly reverted the economic change, announced a revision of the economy for mid-summer 2023[76] and issued an apology.[77]
