War thunder have a lot of interesting vehicles that sadly we wont see in enlisted and Saab 21 is one of them since its a Swedish vehicle but its absolutely unique and have no comparison with other aircrafts
But since we can’t add Sweden we can add the Saab 21 since Japan produced a similar copy aircraft Mansyū Ki-98 Manchurian Airplane and it will go well with the Manchuria Update. If you are not familiar with the Saab 21 here a short introduction:
As you can see there is no such aircraft in the game at this moment however the Japanese variant is a bit different but very similar here a stat card for the Ki - 98:
Why Ki - 98 well there is other options for Japanese BR V ground attacker that I will post in the future but they wont be as fun and as easy to implement as this one. Despite Mansyū Ki-98 キ98 not being in War thunder the Saab 21 is and it can be used as a skeleton for the vehicle so the devs dont need to start from scratch and easily can turn the Saab 21 in to Mansyū Ki-98キ98.
More info on Mansyū Ki-98 キ98:
Spoiler
After the first mockup was completed in December 1943 and the details were reworked, a mockup examination of the fuselage was conducted in the fall of 1944 (Showa 19). After that, prototype production began, but immediately after violating the Army’s policy of organizing prototypes, development was canceled. However, it was allowed to continue production of the aircraft under prototype, but at the end of 1944, the factory in Mukden was exposed to the atomic bomb, so the work was delayed, and it was not until 1945(Showa 20) that prototype production actually started. In August 1945, the fuselage was almost completed, but in response to the Soviet invasion of Manchuria just before the end of the war, the aircraft under production was incinerated to avoid falling into the hands of the Soviet army.
On the video and is Mitsubishi J4M Senden that is the interceptor variant of Ki 98 that was never build but its on world of warplanes however the ground variant was build that is Ki-98.
Art work and technical details of Mansyū Ki-98 キ98:
No they can use the physics since creating an aircraft requires unique physics that is the hardest thing to do then the model and the armament. All they can do import the Saab and use its physics since they are absolutely similar since the design is similar and this will save them majority of the work. They will need only to change the armament to Japanese and the model and change a bit the stats but it can reuse the same physics mechanic since they are the same type of aircraft.
I will make maybe 2 more options for BR V in the future when i have time. But their payloads are just very big bombs.
They’ve got different dimensions, and different locations of hardware, different cockpit, etc…?
I think others have said this in the past; request the vehicle to be added in War Thunder first, in order for it to have any chance of being added to Enlisted.
Well you must understand some basics in programing to understand me. They are Twin-boom aircrafts and we dont have such in Enlisted so if its a new vehicle the devs need to start from the begging and make a new code which will take a lot of development time. They must write and entire code how such vehicle will operate but since Saab 21 and Ki-98 operate the same way they can use the Saab 21 as a skeleton this will save them a lot of time.
This things are written in the code for the Saab-21 so they can just change them by changing the numbers to be same as Ki-98 and then it will be just for the designers to change the model and the armament but after changing the code for an instance they can change the 13.2 mm FN Browning machine gun to operate as 20 mm in the code for the aircraft and then its only for the graphic design to change the guns to look like 20 mm since by changing the code they will operate like 20 mm.
Do you understand how much work can be saved if they reuse the skeleton of the Saab 21 instead of starting from the begging and write the entire code a new.
I think you’re underestimating the work it would take to turn one plane into another, and overestimating both the capacity and willingness to do something like this from developers used to porting finished vehicles…
It’s going to be, at a minimum, way more effort than they’ve ever spent on a vehicle before. Again, probably more likely that the Ki-98 will be added itself to War Thunder than Enlisted deciding to make it themselves…
Well the reason for not being able to unlock it is mainly the fact that it is used on ships that have recon planes, because i guess in other cases those planes are not that very useful
I also was wondering about some french planes that i never saw only to discover that they can be used on on some ships that have -
They’re reskins, operating exactly the same as the original vehicle, with exactly the same models. The same vehicle, but with a different paintjob.
Well yeah, I don’t even think the WT devs are reinventing the wheel every time they add a new vehicle…
But it’s not as much a time saver as you think it’ll be, it’ll bairly be noticeable, and I expect none at all as that’s just how they’d make a new vehicle normally anyway.
That is, from WTs perspective, I still don’t see Enlisted devs doing this.
Out of the interest of actually wanting this aircraft in game, you (or anyone else) should ask for it to be added to WT first…
The guns for them they write a new code and make a model here they will reuse the code so its no too much work. Like it will be with my later suggestions since for now im suggesting just the easiest to implement.
Well there is a topic about it in WT I just made one here. There is demand for it there also.
ahh I see so disappointing…
Ahh what a wasted opportunity they should just give it its 20mm cannons and 250 kg bomb:
