Make BR4 unable to uptier to BR5. Make BR5 only queue against BR5 for all factions

I had very different experience. As a former normandy axis main i still have ptsd from getting squad wiped 3 times in a row by barrage of rockets

I played axes in Normandy a lot of time too, but didn’t see a really spam of hvar.
But at the end, I seen a lot of Jumbo against my poor Tiger

Jumbos were quite annoying to deal with. Even in a tiger you had to aim for weakspots while they usually broke your gun before you could fire. Many allied players kept using jumbo even after unlocking 76w sherman due to the outstanding armour

Thank you for your post.

A very interesting and important discussion.

I voted yes, but then others have mentioned some very valid points against.

My thoughts are:

  1. I 100% agree that BR IV to BR V is crazy.

  2. I would really like to see a BR VI and put all the fantasy crap and jets there.

Whatever blithering idiot added jets to Enlisted… grrrr. Yes they existed (so did the atom bomb, lets give that to all factions then shall we?) but they were NOT common. You did NOT see ANY dogfights between jet fighters in WWII.

  1. Ive argued before and others agree that BR IV is a “dead” BR. Most factions are lucky to have 1 or 2 weapons in BR IV and that’s it, besides some tanks or aircraft.

It is difficult to fix BR IV because its really on a case by case basis.
Japan’s rifles for example (which have now been fixed) were previously BR IV yet clearly only BR II/III level.
Whereas the Hungarian Kiraly for Germany is completely outclassed at BR V in an uptier (and pointless when you can have an STG instead), but some would argue OP for BR III. So where do we put it? I dont know.

I think the main issue with BR IV is tanks/aircraft. The tanks are too powerful for BR III but outclassed at BR V (fake made up tanks at BR V dont exactly help…)

  1. I 100% agree with BR only facing its BR. I mean, even BR I like against BR II SMGs is unfair in my opinion, or Mosin 1907 carbine (worst gun in the game) versus Mannlicher M1895 that reloads quicker than some semi autos.

Each BR must be locked.

As for BR IV/V as others have said and Ive alluded to, even if we lock each BR, BR 4 is a strange situation.

We must not have BR IV tanks in BR III, thats just not right. Likewise some BR IV machine guns (eg Te 4 versus BAR 74 round light machine gun versus 20 round automatic rifle is just dumb)

Either DarkFlow adds significantly more content for BR IV, or we work out each piece of tech and distribute to either BR III or BR V, making it more or less powerful where necessary.

I would have BR I, II and III (as normal), get rid of BR IV. The current BR V would become BR IV but separated from BR III.

Then we would have BR V (which would be BR VI in current terms) for all the fantasy crap and jets.

So BR III is like standard WWII tech, BR IV would be later war tech that was actually used and reasonably common like Panthers and STGs.
