Except in the air Wherboos are trash

Well yeah it certainly can be - and AFAIK with everyone back there trying ot get the Panther it probably is, as others have noticed.

Once htey shoot through to get some other toy it will be service as normal - Panther or not.

Fragged a panther with my P-47 best Heavy interceptor ever change my mind!

Why would I bother?

because no balls

Because it is of no interest to me - sorry to burst yor bubble.

well,

it is possible.

but it’s practically very difficult. almost impossible on some maps.

with the m8, you can pen the rear turett.
weather with the m5, you have to shoot multiple times the side angled plate.
somehow it can go through.

you struggle less with the M5 Summer Event ( where it gets APCR )
otherwise you can aim below the tracks.

but, this would require you to flank.
and be my guest ( which i actually wish you luck ) because panther users, are generally experience players. you don’t reach that level that easely ( unless you are so mad to waste enough money to reach it which i don’t exclude now days ) meaning that it’s not like at the same level of skills of a starter puma.

second, this would imply to manage to get over the map cliffs and rough terrains just to manage to pass all the infantry and locate your self behind him.

which 70% of time, people can fail. ( i tried that my self on the jumbo back in the days with just a puma, and pz IV )
we are still playing a pvp games, people can make questionable decisions, but not all of them.

so effective tactics here are, try to take out his barell, and his tracks. relocate each time. speed is a key factor here, you can take advantage of the " low traverse turett speed ". perhaps he will be fooled and make the mistake of jumping out from the tank. so you will be ready to gun his crew.

so yeah, it can be done, but it’s next to impossible unless you are in a close quarter city and you are lucky that no one saw you and spotted you while the panther in question is not aware of your position.
although, this happens rarely only to ver sur mer and oman. that’s basically it.

best way to take it out, it’s though anti tank weapons such as the piat and the bazooka. don’t bother with tnts because of their inconsistencies.

( or ping him, and hope for someone that uses CAS. the ally have good pilots and good fire power to deal with it )

Don’t bother man the Wherboos are just gonna say flank it or its not a broken tank that Germany didn’t need like when they tried to justify blocking the openings on the bunker cap with their tank wrecks on the Normandy invasion map.

well. it’s your only option.

the panther has been introduced because of the jumbo.
( devs words btw ).

if it was for me, neither the jumbo nor the panther would have set a “foot” in this game.

but i ain’t a developer so.

well, from a technical point of view, it’s not broken :upside_down_face:
it only break balance.

let’s just hope that the matchmaker will be a thing soon enough.

nature of people always try to " cover " shady tactics with questionable word decisions.

so the russian main, so the germans, and so the americans.

as you probably know like anyone else as a CBT tester.

Just had a task to do 1 game as Axis in Normandy - I’m only lvl 5 there, so figured one game is easy enough - we go massacred - they won with about 500 left on the original invasion map with all the original cap points.

There was a Panther at the end - didn’t see it earlier - several Puma, incl my own once, didn’t notice any Jumbo’s but did kil 2 Scotts and saw a M5…

Had a couple of good sessions with the fixed MG’s

Like the good ol’ days

did you get deleted by HE

No more than in any other game - dunno what killed the Puma - but whatever it was it was better than getting pinholed by a bloody AB41 in Tunisia!

Gaijin nerfed HE so it wasn’t that that killed the Puma was probably an ammo rack detonation

how much armor does a panther have on its roof?

16mm but I don’t think the HE of mortars do something.

I just thought of a good emplacement that engineers could build a heavy mortar like 80mm and up

17mm -

15mm is minimum for most pre- and early war tank designs - some go 20 or 25. Pz IV had 20mm on turret and front hull, 10mm on engine deck - Tiger 1 had 25, raised to 40 on the turret roof in 1944, probably due to risk of air attack rather than artillery. Tiger II had 40mm, IS-2 had 30mm, Maus had 65 on the turret, 105 over the drivers and 50 over het engines!

15mm will resist pretty much any explosive that was actually seen on the battlefield - not a direct hit from an artillery round, but they were so few and far betwen it wasn’t considered an actual threat.

Air attack became a threat that wasn’t actually considered in tank design in 1941-42!!

The Hetzer infamously only had 8mm armor - in WT you can kil it with .50’s!

then definitely not gonna get through most HE charges can’t pen more then a few inches of armor plate.
