Levels in the renewed Enlisted

I hope we can get and save some presets - like 1942 preset, 1943 preset, 1944 preset. Maybe this will help a little.

90% of SMG’s are complete garbage tho

Some faction even have 100% bad smg for kpb farming

Beaufighter is so much worse than p47d, it cannot fight air almost at all and no bomb. hispano also very nerfed like pre-patch WT 2020

Does pretty well against planes, I’ve gotten a double ace in a match w/ it. And it doesn’t need bombs, RP-3s are fairly easy to aim and one-shot tanks. Against infantry they are even more lethal, can wipe out a whole offensive push with only two salvos, loop around and do it again before rearming.

After reading, discussing and thinking about today’s news my honest opinion is this:

My issue here is not the ranks of weapons (absolutely not flawless though)
My issue concern the lay out. In my opinion is this is not a tech tree; this is more like the old linear progression but in a new shape/re-shaded.

The entire point of the tech tree is to give freedom of choice. This tree gives you barely any choice. And you have to unlock sidegraded bolt-actions after bolt-actions …
And every segment doesn’t need to be filled with anything you have to unlock.

Some improvements that’s need to be done (based on your 10 tier-proposal):

  • Bolt actions need to be consolidated into 3 tiers instead of 6. Make sub-unlocks within levels

  • Move semi-auto to the left and make the first unlock at tier 4.

  • Switch places of shotguns and early SMG:s

  • The LMG:s are over-leveled and could be pushed down to tier 2.

Example of Axis tree:

Mostly I think the vehicle progression is not bad. (but small arms are all over the place). There is a lot to consider But I have made a first pass (1st draft) of things I think should be moved around, trying to follow your template.

My Method is based on Power level, and also power based on their counterparts. Definitely not complete. I can’t comment on some items or Japan as I haven’t played them much. But I have played Allies, Germans, and Soviets extensively.

I have moved them and colored the changes.
Green = BR decreased, Red = Increased

*Note When moving the Soviet Stuff, its mainly based on what their counter part is. PPS-42 in game is better than most of the German SMGS for example (Germans have a lot that are much the same and not special).

im sure its been said a lot but my main suggestion would be to have the secondary country’s (italy, uk) gear be move to separate lines in the tree.
like have in the german faction have an italian rifle line, an italian smg line, italian tank line, italian plane line, etc
same with the uk in the us tree.

this would help with line congestion as germany in particular has way to many weapons that are very similar in capability right next to each other. having to grind through 10 bolt action rifles to get to your first semi auto rifle is just way too much; compared to us’s 7 or ussr’s 6

(also the bar m1918 from the pacific war is missing from the table)

Well like I said Ho-I could compete with a Sherman if it had the proper HEAT shell.
In terms of currently not ingame vehicles there’s a bunch that can compete with a Sherman:
Type 3 Chi-Nu, Type 4 Chi-To and Type 2 Ho-I Ko (駆逐戦車(甲)) to name a few.

In my opinion, it is much better not to mix Italian and British weapons too much in other trees at the moment and wait for proper national trees of Britain and Italy. I don’t like the current mishmash of multiple nations at all.

Needs more branching. Not sure if I got it wrong, but it is currently looking too linear. Not like a “tree”. Needs more categories. Instead of a straight line for “heavy weapons”, so you have to get flamethrowers, mortars and AT guns in one go, it should look something like this:

Same thing for rifles (whether they’re bolt-action, sniper, semiautomatic, or automatic). Here’s a suggestion:

(had to put this on images due to forum formatting)

This is very important. It needs to look at least something like this (and it is currently not), else the change won’t be optimal.

Why are we accomodating fortnite kids? As arcadey and bot ridden this game is, the main charm is the “historical” campaign and kits in it. Weapons and vehicles tied down to specific squads and campaigns. Imagine you’re a low level axis player in normandy, getting assaulted by 3 stacks airborne bros. Thats basically how them poor osttruppen stationed there felt, panicked and stressed. Or when you’re in berlin axis campaign as a low level, with your volksturm squads. This new progression is not great, just leave the old progression, make each faction more unique by giving them the tools. Like allied with their average yet numerous tonks and explosive CAS. Or germans with their scary ass armor and mechanized infantry(halftracks). Or make crack troops from each nations as a top tier reward. Like the SNLF as amphibious squad, or the numerous panzergrenadier divisions, or even rangers. Please improve the content and the game instead of trying to accomodate everyone, build the fanbase loyalty, make us trust you, and we will trust you with our wallet.

Semi-automatic weapons are way too high for what they are and anti-tank weapons are way too low. Would it really kill players to build AT guns using engineers rather than lolpenning Pz. IV F-2s/T-34 (1941)s with up to 4-12 Panzerfaust-60s per squad?

Why not folder many of the bolt-action rifles from tiers 1-5, with semi-automatic rifles ranging around tiers 2-3, and higher capacity firearms ending at max, tier 5 with some exceptions like the M1919A6/STG-44/Anti-tank munitions, but instead of having more firearms fill the later ranks, make it so that you’re mostly based on the vehicles you send into battle so it remains like now, with you being able to see both early and late war Pz. IVs with SVTs in either Moscow or Berlin, but having the majority of your BR/map-pool tied to the vehicles you send out which would preserve what little historical accuracy this game has left.

Yak-3s and MP-40s shouldn’t be contemporaries and likewise equipping a firearm like a Gewehr-41 shouldn’t pit you against M4A3E2s/SVT-40 against Panther A/Gs.

Otherwise, there was a post on Reddit by u/EclipseZer0 that not only included folders but alternate paths to progress through the branches, delinearizing progression alongside using potentially anachronistic starter weapons of previous campaigns as shortcuts to mid-late war maps. Please look into it.

Not a suggestion but when I look at the screenshot you took, on top I see a branch for the USA, Germany, Japan, USSR… but I don’t see a branch for Italy and Great Britain. Will they be removed from the game or they are not done yet? I would be quite saddened to see them remove from the game as it would mean less diversity.

After opening the table I see that you mix Italy with the German tree and Britain with USA. Which I feel is a very bad idea ! I though Italy and Britain would have their own tree which would be much better and make much more sense.

Dunno if anyone’s suggested this, but can we get the Pershing for the end of line tank for America? To match up to the Tiger II.

Gewehr 41 and zh 29 should be in the lower tier. Why is SVT 38 tier 6 and Gewehr 41 and zh 29 tier 8 and 9? AVS 36 and ZH 29 will never deliver exactly the same performance. zh29 is even worse. And the Fedorov automatic rifle should be at Tier 10.

to be fair, zh 29 is much better than Gewehr 41, because it reloads 10 times as fast

Gewehr 41 isn’t even superior to some bolt actions

Glad to see this probably change, but here is some questions.
U.S and USSR lacks the top fighter against German BF109-K4 or FW190-D12 which is both above 6.0 BR in War Thunder as reference. The U.S. p47d28 is about BR 5.0 and is not positioned as a fighter jet, while the USSR il-10 is a heavy ground strike aircraft. Hoping to see more planes for those two camps.
Below level 3, tanks of German maybe too sick in armor piercing ability.Though German has Panzer III J1, which can easily penetrate the opponent’s frontal armor, but it’s hard for it to kill fleet members because of its smaller caliber and charge amount, especially when its opponents become M3 Grant in both U.S. and USSR. Does the job of anti-tank should be done by Ju87 instead of ground vehicle more effectively?
Btw, could you mark the level of patroon teams? You know when there is a patroon team, the defender need more attention to the sky.

Same issue, how can mkb42H or mkb42W compare with the same Level 9 smg 39m? The latter one has higher rpm and larger box magazine.

Germany vs Soviets is not balanced in my opinion. Federov vs Kiraly??? T-34 vs Pz III N??? and there are many other imbalances. This is absurd and needs to be significantly reworked.
