Let the Allies have the definitive best Thompson in the game

What a word that only has weight when it suits them “BALANCE”

wut ? it’s a TT

Look all I want is a Thompson with +1000 RoF, and one that’s definitively better than the Soviet one because them having the best is a whole load of bull and you know it

That’s why it needs the dispersion and recoil of the Soviet one

my mistake. thought about hyde 35. i make same argument for it as for as44 and t20.

well like i said in another topic, we could have unique and asymmetrical balance(which didnt work since beginning) or copy pasted symmetrical balance. if they asked me i would rather have no prototypes, but then again i would also not introduce even mass adopted guns that outperform other faction weapons/vehicles for balance purpose. whole mess with prototypes and copy pasted weapons is cause they introduced things that one faction had IRL and was OP ingame(although not IRL) and it was imbalanced.

I think we can still have asymmetrical balance. The nations need analogues. Not direct counters. The Super Pershing and Tiger II are perfect examples. They’re not perfectly equal, but they are analogous
I’d argue the StG and Hyde 1944 are the same situation as well. Not copy pastes of each other, but serve the same purpose. StG might be better over all, but the Hyde can compete and work well against it

that boat has sailed since when we got panzerfaust and as44 in soviet tree.

Problem there is Soviet domestic industry being garbage

it is not even problem in weapons. problem is in gameplay that doesnt mirror their actual nations infantry doctrines nor their average equipment.

And none of the guns in this game behave even semi realistically

Oh! And by the way I merely added the “historically accurate” part to it just to preemptively silence any “wah it’s not realistic to have that high of a RoF!” people. I’m not a “this specific gun isn’t perfectly aligned to what I think it should be” like the whiny German mains. However I do advocate for a total overhaul of weapon performance to make it all more realistic. That’d be super interesting. But yeah, I mainly just want a +1000 RoF Thompson and 1500 is the highest I saw so I’m going with that for now. Lol. I think it’d be fun to use. Love me some stupidly high RoF

how about historically accurate part that it was never used in ww2? :stuck_out_tongue: but i could be mistaken, wouldnt be first time

…ok? I don’t see prototypes on the front lines either but hey least this gun was commercially available before the war even broke out!

well at least most of those prototypes were developed for use in ww2 or they were tested just before ww2. i am ok with most thompson models cause they were actually used by military. but some variants that were mostly used by civilians before ww2 shouldnt be in ww2 game.

I genuinely do not see why not when we have things like the Ho-Ri

Just move type 96 thing to BR II so I can peacefully play Japan on BR II and not bother with BR V prototypes… and since we are on US stuff where is the US Warhawk 250 kg bomb since the soviet one got one…

this is going to be argument for every main to get their wet dream of super weapon into the game cause you know we already have ho-ri and other prototypes.

add conders mg with gazillion rpm and 10000 rounds? add it cause we have ho-ri.
add nuke? add it cause we have ho-ri.
add v2 rockets? add it cause we have ho-ri.

if strictly not needed for balance, i am against adding any prototype/civilian/prewar(not used in ww2) weapon into TT.

Before that, Prototype weapons that were NOT USED in WW2 should be removed, even if it gives balance to the other Factions. This cannot be used at convenience only when it suits some factions (Allies, Soviets)

Exactly why it was a stupid idea to ever add it

Funny how I foresaw this exact problem the second it was announced

i was for leaving japan as BR3 faction, but well DF…
