I think eventually, they will move to Cuisine Royal size maps, as its basically a testing ground turned full blown game,
I think for testing purposes they are using smaller maps to get ad much combat testing and ai testing as possible in order to iron out weapon balance, damage, etc
I’m sure we will see more classes (driver, for example) with more vehicles over time. Hopefully the BA-11 will finally asume it’s recon vehicle role instead of a tank role too.
they already have some vehicles on Cuisine royale, such as the kubel, Willy’s, gaz etc, i think we will eventually get them, but at the moment, maps are too small to implement them, theres no point
i’m excited to see this game develop over the years.
First of all (as this is my very first contribution to this forum), I would love to thank DEVs for allowing me being part of testing and sharing feedback.
Now, I have to agree, that maps available not only in battle for Moscow, but also during the public Berlin test are simply too small, and that created two issues (lets call it war thunder syndrome, because that is, what top tier in WT indeed suffers from as well).
Maps offer very limited options to flank for both vehicles and soldiers as shortly after spawn player is usually under the fire. (Especially visible during Berlin test, but for Moscow this effect can be less visible by trying to flank through houses, which of course cannot apply for vehicles)
It is extremely easy to spawncamp, especially for Ba-11, that is highly mobile, easy to hide in surroundings and surprisingly can take some serious punishment compared to german tanks. I often spawned in the bunch of already destroyed tanks and was annihilated shortly after (matter of seconds).
Proposal: Extension of battlefield area and “automatic scouting” of soldiers/tanks that are hiding near its borders near spawn, might help to resolve the issue.
In conclusion, bigger maps are indeed needed, please do not count on players to be “gentlemen” and won´t take advantage of this possibility. Again, taking example from war thunder: Map design can be decisive in game´s reputation, especially when tanks and other armoured vehicles are involved.
yep the maps must be a little bigger but they have to still give you the feel of a battle, if you see a guy every now and then (like in other ww2 sim games ) it lost the starting idea of a battle
Id definitely like to see two different modes, one that is fast paced like it is currently, and another that is on the full sized map that is slower paced.
Bigger maps with vehicles (APCs, Jeeps) would be cool, so that snipers wouldn’t be forced into CQC. Also Its annoying how you can currently on some maps accidentally just walk into an enemy spawn
Jeeps and Kubelwagons are already assets. Then they confirmed light boats for CR which means enlisted will get them too. So far we got some nice selection, not even counting the Seeps and Type 166 Schwimmwagon.
And yes cuisine royale does play a part because it and war thunder use the same engine and share a lot of assets. This means that if a 166 schwimmwagen exists in cuisine royale, it could be added to enlisted. if it is not in CR, they would have to make it first, which can cost a decent ammount of money to pay the artist, making it a low priority compared to stuff they can add from war thunder and CR.
yeah… like planetside 2. How awesome would that be? I mean, we have planes, tanks, all we need is trucks. maybe even boats? I’m sure they have the tech for that kind of stuff.
This, they should make each campaign a gaint map, and just make it likle planetside 2, each campaign is a “War” that is fought out over a week, and the side with most land captured on the map wins.
I do love that style, but the issue is they’ve stated the server cap will be limited to 150 units, so having planetside style battles is not reasonable unless something changes
nor, i don’t think can handle many dead tank bodies. because unlike the corpses, they do not dissapear.
also, i think they are managing good enlisted for the moment.
the only thing i hope, it’s that they will increase maps when more people will play. because right now, it’s more of like trying to build the foundations. than, if more people will like that, will create huge maps.
because the current problem of not having big maps it’s due to the low numbers of testers, almost no transport vehicle avaiable, and many bots replacing the human number.
in those regards, i’m confident in dark flow for the better AI. everyone can see of what AI are capable to do. surely it will take a long time for the devs to coding, improving and many other things. but once they will finish them, this game it’s gonna one of the few. i’m sure of it.
