Increase starting ammunition

Bots can give you any ammo, even if they don’t use that particular weapon

AH ok, that’s a nice feature.

Yeah, it’s usually an early unlock but it’s part of the squad layout tree for each squad.

I know it’s a special weapon, but air service Springfield shouldn’t have any ammo outside of the 25 round mag.

All AT weapons have a bit much as well, especially panzerfaust when it was available given that panzerfaust aren’t meant to be reloaded to begin with. So if it’s re-added it needs a rework.

But only if you are completely out of ammo. Wish they could give you ammo if you on your last clip too.

In lonefighters mode, ammo shortage is also very common. They should increase the rifle ammo also PPD a little bit, like +5~10, for PPD drum, give them another stick magazine. MP’s ammo is kind of “OK”.
Also, I really want the inventory system back. But the developer just NOT want us to pick up anything. With constant bugs on picked up weapons. And the ammo box is also useless since it only refill your primary weapon.

There’s a certain threshold you have to be under. Typically it’s having under 1 clipazine left, but it varies.

with the drum PPD they never give you ammo, and with the Madsen you need under half a mag I think.
With bolt actions though it’s just 4 rounds or less you need.

my playstyle doesn’t fit the game so make it more like battlefield!

this is exactly why it’s a bad idea.

His suggestion is good. There’s a resupply point for tanks, why shouldn’t there be resupply points here and there for infantry?

Because infantry can build their own supply points.

And ammo conservation would be pointless if you could just restock at objectives.

Man I’m still mad they took the engineer from the comm squad instead of the mortarman.

tbh it already is, 9/10 times you die before you even use half your ammo unless you’re using LMGs.

SMGs and especially shotguns run out of ammo very quickly right now. Infinite ammo on points would make them nearly unstoppable.

Using shotguns to defend a point, I usually last until I run out of ammo with them.

Yeah that’s fair.
I still would like resupply in spawn for firearms and maybe grenades.

Sooooo let me get this straight:

  • Making the game more historically accurate is a bad thing?
  • Punishing a player for surviving long enough to run out of ammo is a bad thing?
  • Punishing players for not rushing in (and thus not being able to pick up guns to mitigate the low base ammo) is a bad thing too?

All because of “oH nOw iT iS LiKe BaTtLeFiElD” :man_facepalming:

Why have ammo limits at all if you’re going to call running out a punishment?

It’s like saying running out of grenades is a punishment for being a good grenadier.

You’re not rambo, you’re on a team.

Should allow us to strip ammo from corpses. Whether it’s a prompt or vacuum when you step over them.
Being only able to resupply on ammo boxes when there’s friendly corpses full of ammo all around you is fucking silly.
This way your team will actually be useful

I can see why it’s not the case from a technical standpoint; guns alone are bad enough as-is, though it seems more a Dagor problem than anything else.

Teams are already great at spamming rally points. Just give points for ammo resupply and mark ammo points on the map so ammo points get spammed just as hard as rally points do now.

Yeah tbh it wouldn’t be an issue if resupply points people built showed up on the map same as AA guns and MG nests.

You are getting punished by having a smaller ammo count than is realistic, as surviving long enough to run out of the current ammo amounts is actually quite reasonable and common, especially for snipers, which would often carry more ammo than a regular rifleman anyways.
With the realistic ammo counts, it would make it a lot less common to die because you ran out of ammo.

marking ammo points clearly on the map has already been suggested IIRC.

I don’t think we should foster the idea that each player should be completely independent and self sustaining for the entire match.

You’re getting punished for not utilizing your squad and team to their full capacity.

If your engineer dies you should be linking up with someone who has an engineer, or if you’re in a critical position, asking for relief.
It’s not entirely under your control but it is a teamwork problem.
