The game offers a whole range of achievements, as well as special soldiers with ‘medals’ who earn more XP.
It occurred to me that it would be great if these characters were marked on their uniforms with some sort of decoration, so that it’s clear even in the game that they’re not ordinary soldiers. Various badges could then be awarded for (rare) achievements. For example, the ‘Alles kaput’ achievement could be rewarded with a sleeve badge, the so-called Panzervernichtungsabzeichen, ‘The Paratrooper‘:
Fallschirmschützenabzeichen (Air Force Paratrooper Badge), ‘Conqueror‘: Infanterie-Sturmabzeichen (Infantry Assault Badge) and so on. Players could assign these to one character per platoon at a time, at their own discretion.
I understand that, in the US for example, it wasn’t common to wear medals on combat uniforms, so here they could be replaced by shoulder insignia, or perhaps cool designs on the helmet.
This is a relatively minor change which, in my view, would give players greater motivation to play for longer and aim for specific achievements even after they’ve researched the entire tech tree.

Cool idea but would much rather prefer rank and division insignia before they add something like this.

welcome to our community
though, i reccomed following the suggestion instruction, else threads will be closed by mods.
cause you’re lacking a poll in your suggestion.
https://forum.enlisted.net/t/rules-for-submitting-a-suggestion/170882/2
with that being said, as far the suggestion goes,
it is a bit unrealistic for soldiers to wear awards on their uniform in combat, and not on parades.
so if anything, to not look like that general meme ( still in ceremonial outfit ),
i’d say only gold order soldiers ( the one marked with the valour medals next to their name ) should be able to have their medal on display.
which it’s possible to do as shown with glasses, some characthers do have unique cosmetics that cannot be removed.
but unlocking achievements on the other hand, should issue players with portraits to wear as profiles pic.
( instead of generic non customizable soldiers )
but of course, my mere opinion.
I’ll take your comment about the poll on board and make sure to do better next time.
Regarding badges. As far as I know, it was quite common in the German army for soldiers to wear decorations on their uniforms in combat (specifically the ones I mentioned: most often the Iron Cross ribbon on their buttons and the ‘Tank Destroyed’ ribbon on their uniform sleeve). For other nations (as I mentioned in my original post), these could be replaced by rank insignia on the sleeve, helmet markings, etc. (e.g. the USA).
The point of this post is that the game gets boring after a while, and even if you complete most of the achievements, you don’t get anything interesting or valuable in return (even if they’re rare achievements held by only a small percentage of players).
In my view, creating a skin featuring a rank, camouflage or a medal as a reward for rare achievements is a realistic task and would be a welcome change that sets Enlisted apart from other games.
As for ‘Gold Order soldiers’, I’d take it for granted that they’d be something special (by which I mean more than just a moustache or glasses).
I know this is purely an aesthetic matter, but let’s be honest. Many players play games partly for the skins, they want to customise their characters. There are plenty of rival games where the entire in-game economy is based on skins.
