Even though it was 3 years ago, its an experience I remember fondly, and wish to return not only for new players to enjoy, but for old to revisit.
Ok so what did this post boil down to? Who thinks my idea is effective and who thinks it’s not?
I somewhat (leaning toward like 75% pro) support the idea, and some of us have gave suggestions to overhaul BRs so it fits into basically the same premise, early, neutral, late.
But first I’d want to see how the system the devs are cooking works in a live, normal play setting, and then we could take it from there
In general I think they should be open to suggestions. I hope this game isn’t coded with duct tape and staples that it breaks if you try to overhaul it ![]()
That’s what I feel will happen. Darkflow says they’re open to opinions and suggestions however I’m lead to believe they’re only listening to the noobs and PC players. And I feel like they’re not listening to console players.
Another point, no amount of BR will stop “sweaters” from getting into matches. It’s just like campaigns now. You can call Moscow an “early noob” battle all you want but there were always top players no matter what campaign. A top player in Moscow now can just as easily craft whatever loadout he has to be on top for BR when he ends up in Moscow. It literally makes no difference
That’s why if anything they might as well have match making by rank, instead of regulating Moscow to “noob tier” if new players are an issue. Or if not by rank then maybe play time or something. I’ve seen posts saying they shouldn’t even have HMGs or Bombing Runs in Moscow when the new system drops!?!
And THAT is why I’ll always argue that the merge is a falling knife that darkflow is about to catch by the blade.
I just started playing a couple months ago, I went through the progression just fine as a new player and thought it was quite fun and just the right amount of challenge. Currently there’s only 1-3 top tier players on the opposing team anyways. It’s hardly overkill if you’re somewhat competent in FPS games. To say most people went through the grind together is just false. First off even if a bunch did start at the same time, there will be those that buy premmy/play way more then others. Then add in all the other campaigns ontop of it, there is always a range in players no matter what. Quite frankly, starting out with crap gear against good equipment is just part of the shooter experience in general. I believe it’s a bad idea to cater to noobs to “try and get them to stay” because the ones that would leave will leave no matter what.
I fell in love with enlisted from the first game i played. Enlisted fit perfectly in a niche that i had never experienced elsewhere before. It seems like DF is moving away from what they did so perfectly trying to expand that it will no longer be the same game that pulled me in. They need to figure out what their target audience is/what kind of game do they want and then stick to it.
I don’t know why y’all think there’s more vets then noobs. Literally all the games i play (atleast 5 daily) have 1 or 2 end game players with the rest ranging from mid to entry level.
Quite frankly, starting out with crap gear against good equipment is just part of the shooter experience in general.
Cant really think of any succesful game as we speak that would mix low - high end gear so poorly as enlisted does.
I believe it’s a bad idea to cater to noobs to “try and get them to stay” because the ones that would leave will leave no matter what.
Well apparently they dont stay as we speak, highly doubt merge would be necessary otherwise.
SO obviously something has to be done.
. I get destroyed, welp onto the next spawn. Obviously I think that’s the better mentality
until you realize there is not a single rally point and you have to run 134m to cap the point
