Keeping that in mind, I did offer changing the Tech Tree and Premium Ho-Ris to their (at least somewhat paper instead of completely fake) variants: Ho-Ri 1 (Ferdinand-like) and Ho-Ri 2 (Jagdtiger-like).
So the premium vehicle owners would still keep their premium vehicle and Gaijin would keep their $$$.
However, I think as we all know the Fake Ho-Ri in WT/Enlisted is insanely overbuffed by Mai at the request of Gaijin, so that would probably mean that evem if implemented, the new Paper Ho-Ris would probably become BR4,
Orstay BR5 due to the 105 cannon but definitely not have the mega-sloped insane 225mm armor.
if Ho-Ri is deleted, then type 5 heavy will be added to the path, it was definitely not drawn by Reddit users, although even so, the help of artists will be needed to implement it.
Until War Thunder changes their models, I don’t want the devs wasting their time making entirely new models when they can barely hold the game together as is.
The devs will not be making new tank models if warthunder doesn’t have them and even if wt added these the devs would still not remove the old ho-ri. The other ho-ris would either be in folder or as event/premium vehicles. Completely removing content has never been something enlisted devs would do
if it was remotely possible for them to add actual ww2 BR5 tank(paper or not) that could go against IS2 and super pershing, then i would be for removal. but enlisted in its half dead dev state wont add a tank that doesnt already exist in WT.
if you want it to be remotely possible, then first go to WT forum and ask them to add japan BR5 alternative(whatever BR it is there) and maybe we will see it in enlisted in a year or two and only then can we talk about removing current hori from game.
japan shouldnt have gone past BR3, but devs made it a BR5 faction. cause of relatively symmetrical game balance, japan needs a tank on BR5 that is on same level as end game tanks of other factions, so it will stay in the game(imaginary or not).
like i said any change that you want to vehicles will first need to be implemented in WT, so it would be more useful to complain on their forums. enlisted devs dont independently develop vehicles(although idk if jeeps and trucks were in WT or were made by enlisted devs).
Historical accuracy has already been butchered so screw it. Personally would like to see the BV-38 flying wing from “Raiders of the Lost Ark” added. (It is legitimately air worthy!)
Pretty interesting tale you tell though, assuming it is all true. Even the way Gaijin tries to acquire information is ate up.
The real project Ho-Ri most likely featured roughly the same armour protection as the Chi-Ri (75mm frontal armour with little to no slopping) due to weight distribution, engine and suspension limitations ect.
Worthy only for BR4 at best.
To be honest, when it was announced that Japan will get up to BR5, I expected that their tech tree to be filled up with German weapons and vehicles or captured US stuff.
Im actually going to stay neutral here because I cannot tell if a “lend-leased” Tiger II H / captured Superpershing or a tank made up on the base of a wooden mock up is worse.
But one thing I will say for certain, nothing has ever been removed so far, only limited or made legacy. So Ho-Ri will most likely stay, for better or worse.
i am also neutral as long as japan has something on BR5 that can compete with other factions top tanks. my only problem is if they remove it and dont replace it with anything that can compete with other nations top tanks.
japan should have been BR3 faction. half of the stuff past BR3 is either paper or rejected prototypes.
