Historic squads and weapons on the battlefield

The reason I started playing this game is because it’s fairly historical and not as difficult as SQUAD 44. It’s no longer historical, with the Bersaglieri in Berlin and VG 1-5 in Moscow. I want to go back to the pre-merge environment. I want to use the PPSh-41 with a drum magazine in the Moscow campaign and the Semovente with the Italian tank squad in the Tunisia campaign. Watching gameplay videos of the pre-merge environment makes me want to cry.

It was never historical to begin with. Panzer 3b, madsen, g41 and gewehr 33/40 in moscow and americans running around with ww1 springfields and british bren guns in normandy. The devs always took “creative liberties” to either ensure balance or give new content. I think the best way to keep historical enviroment would be permanent even fight style events with only historical gear. Here the devs could also experiment with asymmetrical balance without messing with the main game

There are some more Historical mods of Enlisted!
But they are rare!

I argued for a more historical mod seperated from merge in Enlisted Maybe Enlisteds needs a more Historical and authentical mode? - Archive / Suggestions - Archive - Enlisted — official forum

Well, I at least try to be as faithful to reality as possible. For example… Germany, I’ve been playing BR3 because…?

Example: AT soldier with KAR 98 BR1 and Panzerfaust 60 BR3, Assault soldier with MP40 BR2, Heavy Machine Gun with MG34 BR3. If I were to use the MG42, which is BR4, I would still keep the soldiers using the KAR 98 BR1 in the composition. I do what I can… and I tell you… it’s been a lot of fun playing like this.

Another example: USA, the Engineers and AT use the M1 Carbine, which is BR2, the ATs use the M9 Bazooka, which is BR3, and so on… always trying to be as faithful as possible to what they actually used.

I really struggle with the Japanese guys, lol, who used Type 38 BR1 and 99 BR2 models… For SMGs I use the Type 100 BR2 and for LMGs I use the Type 96 BR3 or the Type 99 BR3… I don’t use any Prototype rifles, even playing on difficult difficulty is still a lot of fun.

The Russians too… For example, as an AT soldier, I use the M1891/30 BR1 rifle and the rifle AT PTRS-41 BR1. I could face BR4s if I used the KV-2 BR3, but I still maintain this formation with this “historical” equipment. However, the Russians also used many Panzerfaust 60 and 100 AT left behind by the Germans at the end of the war. Of course, this was in Berlin… but since they actually used them, I also use AT guns that vary between the 60 BR3 and 100 BR4 models.

yes the fg42 would make a great weapon for an elite unit of paratroopers, maybe one event one premium and limited to being either used 20% or less of the time. its not a tech tree weapon, its not a riflemans weapon its not a horse, its not a zebra if the t20 is a unicorn, the fg42 is a Clydesdale. the fg42 should be a rare weapon a player uses almost like a power weapon. the idea its tech tree and the t20 should not be in the game is stupid

It was somehwat Historical and mainly the immersion of being historical was there, the Merge ruined much of that.

it sounds terrible considering that the best they had then was the MP 40, the situation with tanks is even worse, since historically battles were sometimes fought not just as the pz3 (some kind) against the t34, but against the kv 1, and they were more difficult to destroy than in 1943, the first tigers on the t34 found themselves on the eastern front

the balance obviously needs to be adjusted, in the form of a hotel mode with preset units without any pumping or in a very limited form, otherwise it is impossible to make a uniform progression for the factions while respecting historical or near-historical accuracy

Im not really botherd by that too much but would enjoy some “historical” matches here and there.

Solution for this is pretty straight forward in my book and would also “cash-in” on the that
“we dont forget about HA enjoyers” statement we had ages ago in the news.

Make a seperate queue like the events are with one “campaign” picked in weekly/monthly rotation,
set prerequisite so you can only bring XYZ or restricted to a single BR.

This way people can bring and level their OWN stuff to their liking and have a “proper setting”…

It was the most historical casual WW2 shooter available.
BFV/CoD were insane. PS44/HLL were too hardcore for many.

Enlisted was the perfect middle ground.
And even though Pz III B didn’t fight exactly near Moscow, it was close enough to Pz III E which did.
Even though the Americans didn’t use Bren at Normandy, the British did, etc.
It always looked like with a bit more care and attention to detail it could become as closely historical as a casual shooter can be.

However, with this New Enlisted we only went further away from WW2 without any steps toward it.

Absolutely agreed.
Only been asking about it for 2+ years now.
