In theory, it’s easy and simple. But in the game it’s not.
To get close to a tank in the grey zone, you have to cross the entire enemy side. And that without being noticed.
On the first shot, all you have to do is move the tank in the grey zone backwards and the chances of destroying it decrease exponentially.
Unless the tank is on the edge of the grey zone, then it’s easy. But 99 per cent of the time this doesn’t happen.
AT weapons, in the game, have their own universe. You need an ideal position that you won’t see in 99 per cent of games. A higher position, with a completely unobstructed view and the target without any natural protection.
What are the chances of this happening when the tank player doesn’t leave the grey zone? The chances are zero.
Instead of deserting like a lot of people do (me to on certain occasions), I have used that time to jump in my planes and finally learn how to dive bomb. So now, at least I have figured out the timing of dropping bombs and lately have started destroying some grey zone tanks. I still don’t like them, but if they camp and start wasting my squads, I go after them in my planes. I will target them with artillery, if on that rare occasion they are close enough to the edge of the grey zone where I can at least drop some rounds close and hope. I hit them a lot with mortar rounds as well, but I don’t think I have ever destroyed one that way. Most of my tank kills come by explosive pack or flame thrower, but those are obviously the ones who either courageously or stupidly come front and center with their tanks to the middle of the battlefield.
You’re right
Normal players who effectively use vehicles or equipment to effectively attack tanks are idiots
The game environment should be balanced by allowing those selfish and incompetent guys’ explosive packs to fly directly to the camping tanks.
It’s a pity
At least it’s very simple for normal players
Even for players like me who are regarded as incompetent suicides among some extremely discriminatory groups.
The Anti-Tank Medal is the 4th easiest thing to get for me (3rd is the Paratrooper)
Because I can often effectively use the terrain to sneak in
Or snipe those hiding in the camping tanks from a high vantage point
like shown above
M9 has the ability to penetrate Tiger H
Even if it is not destroyed, it can prompt the enemy to leave its current position and buy time for friendly forces.
The terrain can provide protection and shooting angles when you attack.
certainly
If you can’t do this, you can also use smoke to obscure teammates’ paths or enemy tanks.
Or use a vehicle to snipe the opponent
Is it that hard to think about how to fight?
No wonder a camper looks the same to you as a priest to a little boy.
it is easy and simple unless you are matched against tanks with no infantry counter at range (e.g. against KT with US). but even that will be fixed soonTM with introduction of higher caliber AT guns.
well DF/gaijin are known for their fast response time when dealing with balance issues…
btw higher caliber guns for every nation for BR5 doesnt really leave much of a choice if you are looking at penetration statistics from current ones.
for soviets it would probably mean 100mm BS-3 gun, for germans 88mm pak 43, for US it would mean either british 17 pounder with APDS (like firefly) or 90mm t8 or paper 105mm t8 that was designed late war and probably produced post war. japan sucks with its AT choices so i guess type 92 105mm gun even though idk its penetration values?
Normal players can use skills and experience to snipe at the enemy’s weaknesses faster.
Even without direct destruction, the enemy can be forced to temporarily give up attacking friendly forces.
20 to 30 seconds is not enough to support the attack or change location?
No wonder those idiots were massacred
Upper level? What do you want to say?
This is the actual combat experience of an ordinary player who has played 4900 games.
I was once one of those idiots who got slaughtered
So I can understand what they’re thinking.
But I also understand how incompetent people can be who can’t escape or fight the campers
