When looking at gold soldiers in the new menu, I can’t see what level of trooper they are. You can see how many points they get so can take a guess, but this should be made clearer so they can synergise with squads you want to put them in. If I’m missing something I apologize, but I’ve been looking and I just can’t see it. Thought I’d better point this out.

You have to select the soldier in question, it will tell you which level they are next to the icon
