I play Germany because as someone that lives in west Europe, I am more familiar with the German side of history, (including their equipment) than the Russian side. I prefer to play with the gear that I am used to. I would probably play America if it was the Normandy campaign, but nowadays I am locked into Germany with the different campaigns.
I have noticed that I lose way more battles than I win as Russia, and often top frag during losses. IDK if its a balance thing or because Germans are the tryhard team, but it is really awful to play Russia when I know I’m gonna lose even if I do really well.
Most good players tend to pick the German side. But Soviets haven’t been too bad either. My last match was a sleeper victory.
But I can relate to most comments here. I win 1 out of 4-5 games with the Soviets. And somehow I’m doing very good in terms of kills because I rarely play FPS games. You know your team mates are bad when you are up at the top for the kills

I get 90+ kills from time to time. It’s not being a try hard. It is sometimes luck or the opponents are terrible or you’ve played enough games to know where to spam grenades. And I don’t play FPS games usually let alone online multiplayer.

This game ATM is still German preference, especially after 2nd wave of invitations, most soviet are noobs. But german are not likely to have so much noob.
I have seen plenty of skilled russian players, and plenty of german noobs. It’s all down to matchmaker luck, tbh.
128 kills in a match really isnt hard. And honestly I win 2/3 of my games when playing as soviets, it really just comes down to being able to carry your team
