I still would encourage you to lower your expectations… for your own good.

Germany has excellent BR5 guns.
FG42 II is S Tier.
MG42 100 can wipe squads super fast at med - long range when laying down.
STG44 has no recoil and is extremely easy to use.
New Suomi SMG will give Germany a better CQC alternative to STG.
Panzerfaust 100 deletes everything.
Yes, Soviets have bodyarmor - but this needs to be removed anyways, other than that there is zero reason to complain about Germany BR5.
Of course, if you are using FG42 I, Mkb42 or one of those ultra RPM MGs you are crippling your BR5 firepower yourself, unless you can deal with the downsides of those guns.

To say that there’s a whole BR difference between the factions at BR5 is delusional
As a big German player on occasion I disagree, do they need buffs? Yes. Is the german BR V everyone else’s BR 6? no. That’s vastly over exaggerated.
Nah, FG 42 isn’t S tier due to it has no bayonet.
S tier is AVS 36
