Gaigin YOU DIDNT EVEN TRY... To get the kiwis right

Us Kiwis have been waiting an age for a game developer to remember that we were also in ww2… The first time we get in. The developers make us a funny squad with funny weapons and a messed up uniform. Infact of all the photos of my great grandfathers one who served in the 24th and the other in the 28th the only photos ive found of them wearing the Lemon Squeezer was leaving NZ and arriving in egypt. Both granfathers served from the NZ army first deployment in 1940 till the end of the war…

Seems like me when I clip throught the bunkers when using the MG and end up in the world between worlds.

Well, it seems you will have to wait a little bit longer. As I stated previously, this is an event squad, so they won’t give any standard issue guns. However, This is only one division of the battalion, so with a bit of luck, you might get another division which is more to your liking.

Oh damn, I’m so used to americans being over-represented in WW2 games it never occurred to me that NZ wasn’t represented. Here’s hoping they add some NZ squads to the campaign with new levels, and not just white guys yeah?

tbh i dont care about it being a LMG as they’re bound to squad and can’t be transferred.
One thing that change with them being a LMG is they will get some bullet dispersion and you cant run and gun with them.
But for that, i first need to know how they perform ingame. Will it be worthy of LMG title or not. We don’t want another FG42 right?

90% of uniforms in game are totally wrong and German Falschirmjagers still have Wehrmacht skins. Soo NZ have much better skin than most of troops here tbh.

I only care because it irritates the loud, angry gun nerd hanging out between my keyboard and chair, but you’re probably right, it’s a minor distinction that won’t make much difference.

They’ll get the increased dispersion, and probably recoil less than they should, yeah.

No, no we really don’t.

There are no Fallschirmjager units or soldiers in game at the moment.

But there are.

One premium and one in TT. And before you say something about that they are Mortar crews, they had to jump with troops as well and had a same uniform.

Only thing premium one has is a helmet, they still have wehrmacht uniforms.

Oh shit, I was only checking squads that come with the FG42, good catch.

Still, I’d rather see independent parachute squads with a paratrooper class, with that class getting the FG42 and being limited to three per seven man squad (history says it was one FG42 per nine man Section.)

You missed the normal MG34 Squad in Berlin.

I would like that too, but it wont most likely be in game like this sadly.

  1. Falschirmjager regiment would be best for it imo, as they have fought with Americans from day 1 and division they have been assigned is in game already with 2 squads (91 Luftlande-Division).

Oh if they added the 28th Maori Battalion that would be legit. I would love to see the Indian Battalions represented as well another group forgotten that did a hell of a lot. BTW this isnt abot woke bs I just would like to see a bit more focus in WW2 games for some of the other Nations that fought in that conflict. Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, India, Canada and nations like Italy Norway and Finland

I mean it would be totally epic on Normandy to be able to pick the Commonwealth instead of the USA. Attacking Juno Sword and Gold beaches. Then working your way up the road to Americans Beaches. I mean Juno Beach was the most heavily defended beach and the canadians kicked ass.

But the Campaign for Italy Crete and Greece that would be epic to be able to be the commonwealth.

I didn’t imagine it was, I just assumed it would be BS if they stuffed a Maori unit with all or mostly EU descended dudes. shrug.

Nah Maori Served in both normal Battalions and the 28th Maori Battalion. The 28th is rather famous because of what Rommel said about them “If I had a Battalion of those Maori I could take over the world” That and our troops all NZ troops that served in Europe unless they were dead or unable to fight any longer never came home and remained in country from the time they left NZ till the end of the war. Both my Great Grandfathers that served in WW2 Arrived in Africa in 1940 and didnt see New Zealand until early 1946. Churchill was a mean bastard and would let our troops come home. The Aussies once the Japanese attacked their Prime Minister brought the majority of the Aussie Troops back to fight in the Pacific, our government didnt want to rock the boat.

It’s just a hat, m8. You should be happy your grandfathers battalion is directly represented in a game - everyone will know this battalion existed, and remember your grandpas.

But is not, his great grandparents unit was the 28th Maori Battalion, here they have the 24th.
I mean check out the chin on this guy haha

As a neighbour of New Zealand, i was a bit disappointed, with the new squad, i honestly thought/pictured it would be a Maori unit, when i see the event, not one full of Pakeha’s, with a weapon they didn’t even use.

Would be nice if there are going to represent the commonwealth units, in game, they would at least use some of most famous Indigenous units, that fought.

The Anzacs are in Rising Storm 2: Vietnam. If you haven’t played it, I recommend you try it, it’s excellent!

I wish they would use squads of under represented people that actually fought, Black tank crew, female Soviet snipers, native American radio squads, Indian and other common wealth troops.

I want TONS of unique squads to choose from.

I remember seeing thread in forum somewhere, about 2 months ago, i read it, about, black tank crew units, and women etc
Don’t think it attracted much support though, which was disappointing, but in the future who knows, can only hope
Edit found them
