Rocket kills on armor are hard, man. They’re not the most accurate weapons, and generally require a direct hit. I’ve nailed a few Pumas with the HVARs on the Bolt, but how much of that was aim and how much volume of fire I’ll never know.
Except in the case of Jumbo vs Panther, which is currently uneven for a number of historical and game mechanics reasons, basically every other tank engagement comes down to three things: Who saw who first, who shot first, and who knows where to shoot the enemy tank to win. If you’re getting slaughtered playing german tanks and it’s not by a jumbo (which is hard but not impossible to deal with) it’s because they either saw and shot you first, or you didn’t hit them in a place that mattered. That is, unless there are problems with german AP that I’m unaware of.
The isue has been shoting the sides. and all yes the round pins but how many do you have to shot to kill the thing? On one map I ran out of ammo un able to reload agin. aspesaly with high alied spawn points to take out when ther over 1300. But even explosives aint doin it. I back up my panzer and boom im killed by bomb pack. i trow one to the side of a M5 it takes 2 or 3 even more. And I played the Artiri tank game, battle filed 1942, Panzer Elight, World of War Tanks, Hell Let Lose, and Fox Hole, even in fox hole I killed 7 tanks with my Warden Widow, and 10 more next day. I think I know what im doing when it comes to killing tanks Also I dont usaly die in my tank inless its from the BS that been goin on. Hell its like AP over penatrate and ya have to use HE rounds but we all know that dont work.
you have to kill the crew. However many hits it takes to kill the crew or force them out of the tank.
reloading tank ammo reserves is only available on conquest maps.
This is only possible on one map, Airfield.
Explosion pack effectiveness is entirely situational, if it’s not close enough it won’t work, and if they throw it behind you and you back up on top of it you’re gonna explode. The UI isn’t great at indicating if the hostile explosive is close in front or behind you.
If you want a decent analogue for how to kill tanks in this game, War Thunder is your best bet, and if you’ve never played it, the skills you learned in those other games isn’t going to help you.
Edit for clarification on the last point: All of the games you mentioned having experience with tank combat use unrealistic, hit number or hit points based damage models. World of Tanks and Hell Let Loose both also implement armor angling and penetration mechanics, but both games rely on an arbitrary number of penetrating hits to destroy a tank, regardless of where the hits were located.
Enlisted, while not by any means a perfect simulation, uses a much more realistic damage model for tanks. All of the crew and modules inside the tank are modelled. If you want to destroy an enemy tank, you have to penetrate the armor, and either kill the crew or detonate an ammo rack. If you fail to do one of those, it doesn’t matter how many shots go through the armor, because they didn’t hit anything that mattered. You might have disabled their gun breech, removing their ability to fight back, or destroyed a track or their transmission, reducing or eliminating their ability to move, you may even hit the engine and set the tank on fire, either burning the crew or forcing them to get out to extinguish and repair. Tank combat in enlisted isn’t perfect, or necessarily balanced right now, but it’s a hell of a lot more complicated than it is in any of the games you’ve played before.
Just because there isn’t a replay system for enlisted, doesn’t mean you can’t get video. OBS is free, and so is uploading to youtube for easy sharing, it’s less free if you’re on console, but still doable, unless you don’t own a computer.
It took you three tank spawns, and three explosion packs, to kill one M5 Stuart, who your team didn’t manage to kill the entire time you were trying. Have you considered, maybe, that you need practice throwing the detpacks, they do need to be basically touching the tank or underneath, and also that he outplayed the hell out of you? If you’re in hell right now, it’s a hell of your own creation.
What makes me laugh, I started this post asking if FW190 in Normandy was fixed yet, where or how it went off track, no wonder devs don’t read posts, they lose context so often.
no they are fine since i only dead 3 times with infantry and went a on a rampage with the panther lost all but my gunner since i didn’t pay attention an issue you seem to have to the stuart that was on my side
how the fuck are you having difficulties with a stuart in a tank, the only tank that can’t frontally diddle the stuart is the panzer 3N but that’s because it’s mostly for infantry support …also i’m saying that the planes are good because they excel at anti infantry roles which is faaar more important than tanks
