Exactly! I end up launching the game first, then hopping on a third-party voice app to chat with my squad too. It’s such a hassle not having in-hall text chat—War Thunder has had it forever.
We’re missing out on so many chances to connect with teammates, make new friends, or even just coordinate a push quickly. Sure, there’s always the risk of toxic players spamming or flaming, but a simple mute/block button would fix that.
It’s baffling that DF hasn’t added basic hall text chat yet. Even the in-team voice (F2 push-to-talk) only works for pre-made squads in the hall, not for randoms looking to group up or communicate casually . A universal hall chat with privacy controls would go a long way—no more juggling apps, and more organic teamwork (and friendships) to boot.
You’re right. They should improve other parts too—like better fortifications, double-layer sandbags, faster trench digging, more optimized heavy machine guns, and more blast-resistant structures. Or even tactics like having AI help dig trenches or capture points behind enemy lines.
You’re too fired up.
This optimization should’ve been here ages ago.
Before, people would just stop doing objectives whenever bombers showed up—they’d only chase planes for points.
This update is just meant to encourage better play.
If players still choose to throw their lives away, that’s on them.
Your worry is overblown.
As for other stuff, I do have suggestions—like letting the shovel dig proper trenches, and adding more buildable fortifications.
Actually, since people alway complain that T34 100 is not historically accurate, does anyone know if there was any 17 pounder tank given to the Soviets through landlease? I would guess no because that’s quite late in the war, but you never know…
lol. Anything but sitting back and shooting the enemy is considered reckless to you.
Keep doing you., i’ll say for one people like yourself you choose to instead of attack the objective they sit on a flank of it and or in their lines and shoot at the enemy who is counter attacking is very annoying.
No reason to incentivize people to play passive… the game already does that by giving you sniper as first squad
Absolutely phenomenal to see. Not even as someone such as myself who does all these on the regular but I really hope this encourages more people to do their part and contribute to the match on both sides overall.
Al lin all a beautiful story , makes things even more complicated for the newbies… but the fact remains the game itselve lags and crashes often. For months now… So i do not care what tweedlediedum updates there are. We log in , no engineers, one camping tank and an unbalanced game from the beginning, while you are at it the game jams or crashes due to graphic overflow…There goes the bonus , there is your penalty…
An E-75 would be just right to face those Fictitious tanks that didn’t see combat in WW2 Germany should no longer tolerate prototypes in the battles simply due to the lack of skill and the desperation of the Allied/Soviet players not to wait for their tanks to reload.
Yeha there’s a point in that you got there. nothing more saddening that setting up a perfect MG nest with sandbags some barbed wire, dig a trench ammo crate next to it… and just seconds after you see a goddamn bomb land next to it and voila… all gone
They already get rewarded enough for shooting the objective. Prior to these upcoming changes, the most someone can earn in terms of xp/score is by using vehicles for active area denial, which is likely why these changes are being implemented.
At least the IS-3 wasn’t fictious but produced 1945 onwards. The E-75 is honestly more a work of fiction as we mainly got speculations from Wargaming or model building companies.
It’s questionable if the E-75 would have been a match. The more reliable sources (e.g. Spielberger) talk of the E-75 and the E-Project in general mostly as a means for a generalization of parts with only little increase in actual armor or armament.
I’m in favor for a BR VI in general to be the home of jets. Might as well take an IS-3 or T-44 into it as well as a Sturmtiger to provide sort of a match. To be fair I wouldn’t mind a hypothetical E-75 either though.
While we’re at it: Please increase the numbers of Squad Presets for a nation to 15. I already ran short of them and got plans for more loadouts.
