I am very excited about the April Fools. I want to see what new game logic the devs have prepares for the modding community!
They never fail to impress, the last April Fools event, Leadstorm, has a brand new gun game mode logic, which opened up a ton of potential ro game modes.
The last halloween event also brought a true randomizer to the game, allowing modders to randomly select events with some creative uses of the gun shop entity
I hope the marketing guys stop doing whaf they were doing and think of a better way to monetize, because that wasn’t working at the slightest
The April fools event last year was rushed as major just indirectly admitted. The march update experienced delays meaning they weren’t able to put full effort in. Still shitty monetization mind you but it at least explains the poor quality of the mode
Very good change, but I hope we can also get some kind of refund or compensation. Not much is needed, but just a show of goodwill.
Another question is about soldiers with pre-merge allocations. I assume we just can’t change their presets without losing their negative/extra points?
@Ice_Cricetus
Some problems cant be easily fixed, such as problems with certain models, devs would need to sit down and redraw (remodel) the thing, animate it if it has animations, and recompile it before they can test if it crashes the game or not
Some bugs are related to the game engine itself instead, which are almost impossible to fix
Indeed, I have never operated a project that would disintegrate without being attacked or encountering natural disasters. And the Soviets did it.
Soviet joke.
As a modder myself, I am able to appreciate the work of the individual programmers/coders by looking at their logic and implementations directly, ignoring the marketing
I can clearly see that the codes were rushed, but I also notice how they cared about expandability - there are methods clearly made for optional additions and compatiblity with other stuff.
I do have to give credits to those individuals, they are pretty awesome
It’s just not everything was just not having enough dev time some of it was just bad gameplay decisions like the order of the weapons rewarding late stage players more than early stage.
I know that, but there are some issues that many players have reported. Some of these problems are being gradually fixed by the developers.
However, the fixes for these bugs were not entirely perfect.
The same issues often had some parts left unaddressed, such as: certain windows; certain gaps; certain dense bushes and smoke edges that do not block the view.
The fixed problems often resurfaced, such as: being forced to use a pistol; AI soldiers preferring to keep 1-2 rounds of ammunition but refusing to reload; the falling problem; abnormal deceleration when not out of energy and not passing through bushes; landmines that get stuck in hands and cannot auto exist,or quick to use main weapon.
PS:Or, better personal statistics.
Yes, it is constantly evolving and improving. However, even though the data it collects is not complete (for older players), its development pace is still slow enough.
Not to mention the rewards for video/live-streaming cooperation users, mod creators, and mod portal websites. Could it be that every aspect is constantly encountering unsolvable difficulties?
