This is very true. Enlisted has BIG competition 2042, World War 3 are coming soon, COD, Insurgency and Hell Let Loose to name a few. Also most people prefer to pay a one time fee for a product and then enjoy at their own pace.
We need a good portion of our F2P and new players to stay I don’t understand why some people don’t understand this. Especially because this game has 4 campaigns 8 different sides to play that further splits the player base.
but remember you only get 10x squads in conquests games
You actually get 12 in some of the Berlin and Tunisia conquest maps. Like Reich Chancellery (which is the best one to get 10 caps on) has a limit of 12. Sadly I have been stuck at 9 multiple times.
Then why would they play a F2P game?
The devs chose the F2P business model because it has been proven to be more profitable that “Pay once” and play. If people deon’t realize what F2Pmreally means then that is on them
There are much better ways of implementing a F2P model
Example Warframe - Been around for ages. Very successful and is an amazing game. It’s F2P and you can do fine as F2P because you can earn the premium currency called platinum through playing and selling stuff to other players.
In this game you can’t get enough gold to do anything meaningful in the game being F2P. Now they are also going to lack enough silver to fill the squads they’re leveling? That’s not fair. We did not have this problem when we started playing so why should they.
At the end of the day. If you want this game to die then continue turning up your nose to F2P players like you’re somehow better than them.
If you want the game to continue and it be fun and successful then we have to throw the F2P players a bone here because I think they are getting royally screwed by this update in it’s current state.
To clarify - I prepared for this update and I’ve been premium since day 2 of joining this game. I still think for F2P they should reduce the grind significantly.
You keep saying shit like this in posts and it’s infuriating. This is NOT how good F2P games are designed. F2P games are designed to bring in as many players as possible and then to target very small sections of the players who will spend thousands of dollars on the game. They are NOT out for $5 from 1000 players, theyre out for $10,000 from 10 players. The most successful F2P titles have proven this time and again as the most effective way of monetizing F2P games and to say otherwise is pure fantasy. F2P players make up the VAST majority of players and if the experience for them is bad, then the playerbase shrinks to nothing and the game dies. F2P players are the ocean in which you catch your whales from and if the ocean dries up, you lose your whales and you lose your profits.
Do you have user data that DF has not made available? You know very well that the state of the F2P business model is very much in flux and for a few years has been straying from making the majority of profits from whales. The latest updates have tended to demonstrate that the game is veering towards P2W. The ability to promote premium squad soldiers is just one example. I don’t know why you refuse to see the clear path that the shot callers are making in monetizing this game, it sure doesn’t seem to be heading in the direction of F2P player retention….just the opposite. I’m not advocating one way or another, I’m just stating what I’m seeing unfold, not what I think is the smart or best path. And it really does not take much to purchase faster progression and more silver orders, maybe equivalent to what most spend one dinner date in a year.
What? No it absolutely has not, I have literally zero clue what you could possibly be talking about with that. Every successful F2P game from Fortnite to League has based their model off of whales. Theres no “in flux” about it, it’s been like this for over a decade at this point. Games that dont follow this model tend to be games that are alone in a niche market such as War Thunder or World of Warships, and only serve as exceptions that prove the rule.
Yeah, theyre following this model because it works in War Thunder and that’s what they know. Enlisted is not War Thunder, it doesn’t exist in a niche bubble with no competition. It’s not hard to see what’s happening. I personally don’t even put that much faith in the decision making of Gaijin considering the CEO claimed that they lose money by having War Thunder on Steam and that Steam doesnt bring new players to War Thunder
There should be some method of acquiring in game currency through grinding, even if just for cosmetics. Take RDRO you earn gold nuggets for basically every activity, dailies, missions, pvp, ect. Enlisted needs to allow ftp players to be able to grind for enough good to buy the battle pass, ect.
