I have been quitting most Normandy (AXIS) matches as they have been dull as fuck as 90% of the time it is not even as entertaining as shooting Fish in the barrel. Berlin seem to have a better balance at the moment and just suffers the normal issues of your team not knowing what to do with a fucking hammer!

Team Balancer that would ensure that both teams have X high tier players, Y medium players and Z new players to allow everyone to meet both good and bad players while keeping the teamsâ average balanced - absolute yes.
Lately I have been getting abysmal teammates as Soviet Berlin armed with mostly bolt actions and doesnât even built rally points or playing the objective. Its really bad that have to quit until I find a good team.
why would you even put low level players with high level players⌠bolt actions vs full auto spam, low level tanks that cant pen high level ones. much better MM would be level based one where you get into level match that your selected squad/equipment is. that way you can have fun bolt action matches even if you are lvl 40 in that campaign.
I believe the best experience in team games is achieved when some opponents are better and some are worse than you.
As of now it is entirely possible that one team has a T-34 in Moscow and the other has literally nothing to counter it.
By ensuring at least a couple players with Pz III J and GrB we might have a semblance of balance.
Just because I am level 30 it doesnât mean I want sweatbath matches every time, handicapping myself with BAs.
so you want newbie with only BA rifles go against players with full auto? at least with level based MM you would get BA vs BA and auto spam vs auto spam and players would get to choose what they want to play. vehicles should be balanced level based so they should be destroyable by its level based counterpart.
I canât choose my level so I have no choise but to follow the full auto meta if Iâm high lvl even if I donât want to.
level based on equipment/squad you have selected. so if you select low level weapons/squad you will be put in low level match.
And what if I play with one high lvl and rest low lvl? An average?
Thatâs what happens right now anyway and thatâs how progression works.
The only difference is that now there may be 2 noobs and 8 bots vs 2 squads of sweatlords, but with team balancer noobs would sometimes get killed, sometimes kill other noobs, and get overall fire support from the auto guys on their side as well.
you would get matched with highest level you have selected/equiped. and then divide level MM into ranges. so MM for levels 1-9, 10-19, 20-29, 30-39. level ranges could be further tweaked (so you could get MM with 1-13, 14-27, 28-40). just so you dont have situations where end game players feeds on newbies.
but now we dont have MM.
also i dont see how team balancer would even work. if you have 2 noobs and 8 bots would team balancer wait for it to get fully populated by humans? or would it take that 1 squad of sweatlords and put in opposing team? how would you guarantee that team gets high, mid and low level players in equal amount?
Then fuck it. I wonât play with BA vs FG-42 or something.
Well, the way I see it:
- (preferably) introduce Play Any Campaign quickmatch option with additional XP booster => more players in the same pool;
- (at least) the game should pick players to equalize the average level/skill among the teams as much as possible with the widest range from top to bottom.
Better start think some sort squad composition BR to suggest
nah⌠when i say for levels 1-9 i meant when you have equipment from that level it matches you into said MM bracket. if you have lvl 40 equipment selected it will put you into lvl 40 MM. so if you are equipped with e.g. puma and BA it will put you into lvl 1-9 bracket. but if you are equipped with tiger and BA it will put you into lvl 30-39 bracket. or you can go with tiger, fg42 and mp43 and you will go into lvl 30-39. that way your equipment says what kind of matches you will be part of. highest level equipment will tell you what kind of MM you will get. so you wont be BA vs FG42 (well unless you have some high level vehicle selected).
And I donât like exactly that.
I want a tiger and BA but Iâll play against a tiger + mp43 and fg42.
Donât worry, if You take all skilled players they can barely fill lobbies in specific events, in specific time frames and when all are pushed into single campaign (event).
Only time i see more than 4 good players on enemy team is if they have 2 premade teams.
It will still be PvE beacuse this game has 0 player retention, only fresh blood noobs waiting to be slaughtered by maxed meta weapons, only to quit and be replaced by next one.
So itâs either old vets playing 2v2 with bots, or they get thrown into noobs like always.
This could help new players play against low level guys, but if itâs âskillâ based then there will be a way to smurf maxed account into newbie slaughter anyway
but that is exactly what is making beginner vehicles unplayable. when is the last time you took low tier vehicle after you unlocked better one? level based MM would make low level vehicles playable again so you dont need to be in fear of someone with tiger just OHK you when he spots you. nowadays you just unlock better vehicle and forget the old one cause you dont want to be in disadvantage.
most of the grey zone issue is all about high level vehicle dominating low level ones that cant penetrate it. also you will have more newbie friendly atmosphere where they arent totally dominated by high level players with full autos and high level vehicles and old players can take out their old weapons to enjoy different playstyle and not be at disadvantage.
anyways level based MM is not something new. it is already in Warthunder with its BR, WoT and WoWs with its tiers etc.
only problem i have with it is that idk if there is enough playerbase to even have MM
I still use PzIII in normandy. But because I also use MG42 Iâll fight agains jumbos.
