Currently, the mod site for Enlisted is mostly limited to sounds, a few garage appearances (which no longer work), and maps. I propose creating an official Workshop on the forum that would allow the community to easily share and install visual and cosmetic content, such as:
- Face paints and weapon textures to customize soldiers.
- Alternative or thematic uniforms.
- Flags and emblems for teams or soldiers.
- Skins and other visual elements that enhance gameplay without unbalancing the game.
I base this suggestion on Day of Infamy (DOI) and Battlefield, both of which had complete Workshops. These systems allowed anyone to include the mod they wanted, and mod creators had free rein to enrich the game experience.
Why this is useful:
- It allows the community to customize the game and make each match more immersive and unique.
- Creators can easily share their work and receive feedback to improve their mods.
- The community could add visual content without constantly asking the developers to include these elements in the game.
- Encourages responsible modding with safe and compatible content.
Proposed features:
- Simple and secure installation
- “Install” button to automatically copy files into the game.
- Easy activation/deactivation of mods.
- Automatic backup of original files and antivirus verification.
- Support for creators
- Dedicated profile to publish and manage mods.
- Easy updates and the possibility of receiving comments.
- Community interaction
- Discussions on each mod for feedback and advice.
- Tutorials for creating or installing mods.
- Events or contests around modding (best skins, original uniforms, weapon textures…).
- Mod Packs
- Combine multiple creations into a thematic pack for one-click installation.
- Filtering and rating
- Sort by popularity, newest, or mod type.
- Rating system to help players choose their favorites.
Conclusion:
A visual Workshop on the forum would greatly enhance the Enlisted experience, while giving creators a safe and convenient space to share their ideas. Inspired by Day of Infamy and Battlefield, it would allow the community to take initiative in enriching visual content without relying on the developers and would strengthen engagement around the game.
