You continue to believe “authentic” means “accurate”
Authentic just means “believable” or true to the time period. Does the Ho-Ri have thermal sights? Auto loaders?
You can completely make up a tank design that never existed, but if it was designed as if it was made in that time period, its authentic.
Authentic and accurate are two different words.
The Ho-Ri is authentic to Enlisted because it is designed with the technology of the time period of the game. It is not ACURRATE to Enlisted as it was never produced in real life.
Authentic (Oxford definition) – of undisputed origin and not a copy; genuine.
The Ho-Ri we have in game was neither designed nor made in that time period. It never existed. It’s not even “believable” – Japan could never even dream of a tank on Tiger 2/IS-2 level.
They could dream but they lacked anything approaching the necessary industrial capacity to produce a heavy tank on top of their already strained situation. One of the many reasons why I think Japan should have been BR3 max but that ship sadly has sailed long ago.
Historically, there were two designs for the Type 5 Ho-Ri gun tank. One featured a rear-mounted fighting compartment, and the other had a centrally located fighting compartment. Both variants shared the flat frontal hull of the Type 5 Chi-Ri, along with the same engine. The project was scheduled for prototype production in 1945, yet the war ended before any vehicles were completed.
A wooden scale model of the vehicle does exist. It appeared as early as 1961 in Japanese Armored Fighting Vehicles, supervised by Motohio Hara. That is why I find it ridiculous when people claim photos of this model are edited fakes; it represents an early draft of the Ho-Ri concept.
Gaijin did not invent the vehicle out of thin air. Instead, they exaggerated historical records when implementing it in-game. For instance, they turned the plan to build five prototypes in 1945 into a statement that five prototypes were actually manufactured, even though the program was never fulfilled. They also heavily overbuffed its combat performance.
As things stand now, the Japanese tank destroyer available as an advanced squad reward has stats that align far better with historical records.
Meanwhile, the production Ho-Ri in the main tech tree is heavily overperforming with unrealistic parameters
There really was a wooden mockup of the Type 5 Ho-Ri, but the in-game performance stats are proven fabrications.
This Korean consultant, Mai Waffentrager, is a repeat offender when it comes to forging historical materials. He would invert image colours, crop and blur documents, then invent fake sources for them.
The wooden mockup is genuine. The preliminary Ho-Ri design was documented in Japanese Armored Fighting Vehicles, a published book written by Motohio Hara. These materials are publicly available, yet he falsely claimed they were classified archives from Japan’s Ministry of Defense.
Later he resorted to photoshopping and inventing vehicle specs out of thin air. He added numerous subsystems that never existed historically, resulting in a drastically overperforming vehicle.
Back in 2018, he tried the same trick again by fabricating armor protection figures for the Type 90 MBT. His forged evidence was publicly debunked, and he deleted his account shortly afterwards.
For the Ho-Ri specifically, he twisted the historical record: the plan to build five prototypes in 1945 was rewritten as five completed production vehicles. He also heavily modified engine power and armor based on the original draft. Now Gaijin intends to remove both Ho-Ri variants, largely because the consultant who supplied these misleading data has left the team, leaving no credible historical backing for the unrealistic stats.
The wooden mockup was presented at the Fourth Technical Research Institute conference, with approximate technical specifications as follows.
This Korean player was recruited as an official consultant by Gaijin, and Gaijin is clearly unwilling to admit they misjudged him. They simply make up armor values to get by. It would cost players roughly 80 US dollars to unlock the Type 90 MBT using free experience. The developer only cares about getting the money first; nerfing the vehicle later is not a concern.
Didn’t you was the guy that said noooo they can’t add the APHE to the M6A2E1 because It didn’t was a WW2 Shell and then a guy showed you proof that It was the first Shell develoved for the tank and you still said nope soo I can’t take you seriously idk if you are that guy because I can’t find the posts rn
If we are going to stick to the facts, let me be clear: while the T-44 was indeed an experimental vehicle developed in late 1944, it was originally equipped with the same 85mm main gun found on the T-34/85. It wasn’t until 1947 that the T-44 prototype was refitted with a 100mm gun—by which time the T-54 had already appeared. Do you see why I used the AK-47 as an analogy? It’s because the T-44/100 variant you mentioned entered service during the same period as the AK-47—specifically in 1947, the very year the Cold War began. So, your attempt at mockery falls flat; on the contrary, your argument only exposes your ignorance of WWII history and your own arrogance and rudeness.
Come talk to me once you actually understand the history of World War II and the Cold War. If you were bringing up things from before August 1945, I probably wouldn’t bother discussing this with you; but the tech trees have already moved past 1946, yet here you are still harping on about WWII. It feels like you’ve played too much Call of Duty and are mistaking the fictionalized history found in those games for the actual history of the war.
To the Chinese underage players: this isn’t War Thunder. The idea of moving the Tiger H1 up to Rank VI is absolutely absurd—you’re taking a tank that debuted in Tunisia in 1942 and throwing it into matchmaking alongside the IS-2 from the end of the war in 1945. I honestly don’t get it; they haven’t even fixed the issue with those Soviet “steel-shelled turtles” yet, and now they’re messing with the matchmaking again? Do they think Enlisted is just child’s play?
Cant Login on chinese internet for Enlisted for 3 days straight… ive lost my event streak, it would mean the world if Gaijin servers tweaked the compatibility bit more for a bigger playerbase opportunity… Cheers
Normally the event like this would require 20k exp for two days step, and in the end of the event, it would still have 4 days/2 steps left for people who couldn’t grind nonstop. Right now, the event requires 25k for a 2 days step. I have just received the second Japanese grenade launcher and I haven’t skip a step. So, I still have 8 days left to finish 3 steps. Which means, even though you extended the event by two days, two days are missing from the normal schedule so far.
This, or how about you simplify the hectic graphic, so that anybody old and new can understand your moronic crooked logic that is there to confuse every new player. Your stupid graphic indicates that even though the event step is 2 days limited, one can do it tomorrow.
I’m tired of looking at the events graphics last 4 years and wondering if I can skip a day, cause I have real life shit to do.
How about that. Change your shitty outdated event graphic into something new and clear that will perhaps also indicate by color on which step currently the player is.
Here I am, coming to you. This is a game. Not a simulator. This is a free to play struggling over the years FPS game about WW2, not a book on history. STFU, bye
