M2 should be deleted and come back for a battle of hurtgenwald campaign or something much later in the war.
FG42 can go to Gunner II squad and just make them a fallschirmjaeger unit with proper helmets and jump smocks.
FG42 (sniper variant) can again go to sniper II and just make it an FJ squad.
Lots of fallschirmaeger fought in villers bocage, carentan etc.
Would even be amenable to locking those squads from the D-day map. If you get D-day the FJ squads get locked and new squads automatically added.
FG42 was a battle rifle and probably one of the first universal weapon system suite proofs of concept. It’s super interesting from an engineering perspective as well.
it shouldn’t be done to cater whinny German babies that cant deal with fully automatics they get the most but cant deal when allies get 1 fullatuo gun that’s not in class so boooo hoooo
get good man
Pretty much this. I was on a 12 games winning streak vs Germans on Normandy yesterday and then played against a max-level player who knew what to do and we barely won. But, next game, I was against him again, and he gets another max-level player on his team. They rolled us super hard this time with double plane madness.
By last point (we were defending the church) our team was so demoralized that people were venting in chat “Start playing. Defend point. Etc.” The thing is it’s hard to defend when your squads get constantly wiped by bombs by the time they make it to objective. I used almost 30 (THIRTY!!!) squads, trying to defend, most of them died to bombs.
My personal opinion so far is that Germans vs Allies games at the moment aren’t defined by which side has better balance - they are sort of equal imo, germans have weaker tanks but stronger planes and better end-game game guns - it is purely about who has more end-game and p2w players.
So maybe the problem with people losing more often on German side is purely down to the fact that they have less maxed-out players on their side and this is a MM issue rather than balance issue.
Trust me bud I have zero issues killing squads armed with the M2. If you are this upset about people talking about removing one gun then maybe it is you who needs to get gud.
A big problem is that as a german faction player you have to grind, and invest money in every campaign which there are 3. As a Us player you only have one campaign that you need to grind and invest in at the moment.
Now if they make another us/german campaign that will be 2 us campaigns, and 4 for the German. that’s still a double cost as far as grind, and monetary investment for the germans. It’s just not fair as a german faction player that I have to start over for every campaign.
i do feel like germany “suffers”, not sure if its becuase of an imbalance or if there are too many players that dont know how to play the game properly, i will start logging data. Im almost always 1st or 2nd and i want to say 3/4 games we lose, atleast in the last 2 weeks.
Latest data from Normandy. Any critiques on structure or new datasets to add are welcome.
F2P games generally have a much lower skill average for some reason. To blame one faction struggling more than every other single faction I think is intellectually lazy.
With the way the campaigns are structure you do have to remember the population, especially the closed beta/alpha testers, who have the most experience, migrate, and that can disproportionately effect team balance.
With Berlin, The panzer IV struggles hard af against the starter T34. The playing field levels out decently when panthers are unlocked but for some people grinding all the way up to the panther while getting rocked by T34s constantly can be daunting.
The PPD40 (premium or otherwise) are buzzsaws and IRL soviet submachine guns were known for being quite good. I think introducing the VG1-4 automatic rifle will help level the playing field in that regard.
In general, with how many times I fall through the map, my AI get stuck and the balancing issues, I’d say Berlin is not ready for release yet.
While in most cases i think this would be true, germany in games have alot of issues, alot of people will start the game playing germany since they think it would be the easiest since they learned that Germany always had the cool guns and tanks. This problem happens in war thunder alot, new players will rush the Tigers and panthers and pull regulars players down.
Massive generalizations about a group of people are abhorrent in any other context. Yet it’s okay here? Making sweeping statements based off of anecdotal evidence has universally been considered an intellectually lazy thing to do.
And whether by the magic of cool krupp steel or sheer luck, the average German skill being lower is and will effect the longevity of the game. Whether or not the game mechanics are equipment or balanced or not, if you have 90% of the skilled players stack one side that’s a problem that needs to be address unless the game’s future is meant to be a PVE game.
German mains, whether it’s through sheer incompetence or ignorance of the game mechanics will quit, play less or just swap to the allies.
Not saying I know how to solve it.
and as I said in a previous post
Constantly saying it to dismiss discussion has been done about a billion times now. Horse is dead, please move on.
