It may reduce the reason to quit but people will still quit over bad maps and modes anyway besides the obvious red flags like the team is mostly camping and sniping all day instead of rushing for the objective and not building rally points at all.
I totally agree with all your points.
It seems like they don’t have a real development plan but they add crap that might bring them new revenue and after a while they make it useless.
Instead of sitting down to fix the hundreds of bugs the game has now, they nerf classes and add stupid things.
I already said what they have to offer me to stop deserting.
Since they don’t let us choose modes and maps, we’ll keep deserting.
Showing ranks on the roster was also helpful for knowing when you’re playing lousy teams.
And for the devs, it wasn’t enough to reset the ranks, now they’ve decided not to show them at all. So there is no point in having ranks in the game anymore. They can just accept it was a bullshit idea and remove them.
“Cowards”
What an insanely dumb take. This is a video game. it is supposed to be fun, not a demonstration of bravery on who can suffer more on a side filled with bots and people who refuse to play as a team. If masochism and heroism is your thing, perhaps you should not be playing multiplayer games, or video games in general.
Ranks and stats are completely meaningless at this point. It is as if you were playing a single player game. Only you can see them, and it is just bait for players to grind and sink money in the game and see a pretty icon which means absolutely nothing to no one. It is, as I said, it is pathetic, lousy game design.
It demonstrates they do not even trust their own mechanic. They add it, with penalties for leaving early. Then they increase the requirements for higher ranks, then they hide the ranks? What is the point in having them exactly? To wall a bunch of rewards behind the ranks, and force people grind, to keep playing more, out of fear of missing out. It is lame.
Very well said.
It’s a GAME dude.
You can win or lose.
If you only want to win, and avoid losing by deserting, you are a cowardly gamer.
You should stick with single player games, you will always be happy and not cry when you lose.
The sight shake on AT guns has been there since open beta. I do not know if it went away ever, as I took a break from the game for over a year, but I’ve always noticed it being a problem.
“It is a game” followed by “cowards are those who do not play according to my arbitrary, childish standard”.
The irony is so thick, you can use it as a sandbag.
It is not about winning. It is about fair play and fair balance. It is about not wanting to play alone with a team of bots and new players against a full team of veterans sweating their balls off because it is not fun to get absolutely destroyed in minutes. You could just as well leave and save yourself the frustration from a completely unfair battle.
The game should be balanced, and players should have a minimum of self-respect to expect the developer to deliver on that, not hide the reality from the players, leaving them wondering why they stand no chance, and quit. But do not let that stop you from insisting with these dumb takes about bravery and cowardice.
It is embrassing, really.
I agree with you more than you might think.
Matchmaking and balance are a complete disaster in this game.
And that ruins it all.
That causes people to desert in the first place…
Then why do you shame people for refusing to be on a side which will get crushed no matter how well they play?
You join a battle, you see the lengthy list of player names with no rank, you quit. No point playing alongside bots against a full team of human players. And the developers have been improving naming for their bots to spoof real player names, and to hide ranks, all in order to make it more difficult to be able to tell you are the only player on your team.
Then it is the massive skill gap between experience players who understand how to setup their squads and always build rally points, weapon balance, map balance and overall campaign balance. I won’t even talk about those. That is another giant can of worms.
Dishonesty, and shaming the playersbase for refusing to be conned is what drives the playerbase away. That is why the game struggles to retain players, in the first place.
