yes it’s a team because of the weight of the mortar plus the ammo that had to be carried with it but they did not have radios with them.
They could not just send a team member out forward to spot for them and they would not fire unless the rounds were spotted.
This doesn’t have to be that far forward. It literally can be a few feet, peaking out of a covered position, and yelling back.
The ranges we play (even from the gray zone) is not that far at all.
They need to be far enough forward to see where the rounds are landing which would make them more vulnerable to enemy fire thus solving the problem …
